About three months ago my daughter was attacked by a dog that jumped the fence in my yard. There were some severe bits but luckily none that did any permanent damage. Except for the fact that she is petrified of dogs now. Anyway the man seemed very remorsefull and said that he wanted to pay for any medical, and loss of wages. I beleived him, but when I got the bills I started to get the run around. The finally his roommate admitted that he ran to North Carolina, I don't have the slightest clue of what to do now??? Any advise would be great!

Get a little bit sneaky to track him down and it will only cost you a stamp. It seems that you know where this man lived, do you know his name. If so, write a little letter to him, put it in an envelope, then mail it to his last known address. But on the envelope, in bold print, put these exact words on it. ADDRESS SERVICE REQUESTED. If this man forwarded his mail through the post office to his new address, you will get your letter back, with a yellow sticker with his new address on it. Then sue the pants right off him. Good luck

Poor thing I know how she feel I was atacked when I wa 8 years old still have the scars on my arm and face (lip and nose). You have to consider how much all the expences come to and is it wort the trouble. If you think ist just a matter of principle than you must know it could end up costing you an arm and a leg. If you think that you will get more than what the expences are than go for it. Hire a detective and legal representative. Is there a free legal service? see if you can get that. Anyway all the best and tell you dauhgter that not all dogs are bad (it took me about 6-7 years to get over the fear)

Sorry for what happened, I know that it had to of been horrible. To make matters worse, when my son went into school he told the nurse about it. She asked him where I was when it happened, and he said INSIDE! He wasn't even there, he was a school...Anyway she call Child Services on me. They came to the house, I was so mad it took everything in me to be nice to that woman. Anyway I just told her to call the police man who took the report, or the doctor who treated her. The doctor told her that he knew I was right there cause if I wasn't her wounds would have been much worse! She had bite on her head, arms, legs. They were mostly worried about permanent damage cause she's so little. It was so bad, and the Child Service thing didn't help all the guilt that I was feeling for not being more careful with my baby!

That's terrible. I would contact a lawyer to find out what my options are. Was this incident reported?

I was just worried about contacting a lawyer cause I don't really have the money for one especially if I'm gonna have to pay the deductables from these bills.
