So yesterday It was about quarter to four. My sons bus usually comes at 4 or 4:10. The head start bus showed up right as I was getting in the car to go get my son. So I got my younger son off the bus and the bus driver says Parkers walking. {She was going to offer him a ride but thought he would run away screaming LOL} I was Like WHAT?? He shouldnt be here yet!! Well here he comes up the hill. About half way up he looks at me and throws his arms in the air like "hello its me, did you forget??" When he got to the driveway he says "MOM, Why didnt you pick me up?" I told him he wasnt suposed to be here for another 15 min. Im very sorry I wont "forget" you again!! LOL. Poor guy. Well when my husband got home he told on me! He said "Dad, Mom didnt pick me up and I had to walk all the way down the hill and all the way up the other hill!" LOL. Well today Im going at 3:30 to make sure im there when he gets there. You watch now theyll be late!! LOL

LOL How cute! I'm kind of wondering why they would let him walk if you usually pick him up. In my hometown they don't let them out of the building until someone picks them up. Oh well, at least it's just up and down a couple hills. Kids sure like telling on mom, don't they? ROTF

Ahhh. I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I thought he walked from school, not the bus stop. Silly me! Now that I understand, it makes total sense. LOL Have a wonderful day!

Once ther in kindergarten the bus diver lets them off the bus weather someone is ther or not. In head start they wont let my son off the bus except to me or my husband. If were not there they take him back to school and call you. But once they hit kindergarten it dosent matter anymore. Yes I love how they always tell on me!! LOL Got to love em.

You know the sad thing is, this has happened to me plenty. Either forgotten, or mom was VERY late. I forgave her each time though. "Hi mom, how are you?" "Oh don't worry about being late, I know how traffic can be." "It was another meeting? Okay, I understand." (me at age 5 and up) (maybe I'm too much of a softie ;p). My little bro on the other hand, nope, not even any mercy. Usually "Why'd you not pick me up at 5, rawr rawr rawr!" "Oh my God, how long are you gonna make me wait!?" And you know, maybe in your situation Copper, if your kid had his own cellphone so you, him and hubby could call and text message, you might avoid situations like this. (What?! Too soon!? Nah! ;p) Have a good weekend Copper! Wish the family well for me!

LOL I was going to ask whether he told on you, my son tells on me when I forget to do something. Luckily I have not forgotten to pick him up from the bus. My neighbor was telling me that she often forgot to collect her son from the bus stop on Mondays because they always finished early for teacher trainings and conferences. If there is no parent to collect them from the bus, the bus driver returns the child to school, and then the school contacts the parent. She's had to rush to his school to pick him up. I hope that doesn't happen to me since my son is only 5 and in Kindergarten.

OMG I responded to this discussion about how this was my BIGGEST fear and OMG the next freaking afternoon I did it. I missed my daughter I couldnt beleive it!! I had told my hubby right after I responded that watch now I am gonna end up missing her and thats what happen the very next afternoon!! Thankfully she handled it ok, I think I was more freaked out then her.

Oh My this is my biggest fear!! To loose track of time or be stuck in traffic and not be at my daughters bus stop on time she would FREAK OUT!!!! She is only in Kindergarden and they wont let her off the bus unless myself or one of the other adults that I gave my permission to pick her up. She would be taken all the way back to school and they would contact me and I would have to go all the way to her school to get her!!!! I am so worried about this! In our school district its actually a rule thatas a Kindergardener Parent if we miss the bus drop off 1 time a month we will be forgiven with no action, miss the drop off 2 times in a month and your no longer offered bussing, until you meet with the transportation supervisor and give them your reasoning for missing your child 2 times and if they feel that your story is aceptable then you back in. Im sorry but I wonder how bad the problem was for them to allow us 1 day each month!?
