PC Problems? - It's always something with a pc.

I'm now using win xp and I really never liked it but I'm dealing with it. The biggest problem I'm having is programs closing when I'm done with them. I have to remember to be patient because it does take a couple of seconds but I'm soooo impatient. I want it to close when I hit close and that should be the end of that. I've done all of the troubleshooting and everything you're supposed to do but it still happens. Do you experience any specific problems with your pc that you just deal with?

Seems like you just need to be patient, especially with high end programs or running a lot of programs and closing them. Plus you may need to upgrade some of the components to run things faster, or more effectively. Currently my workstation is rather slow when dealing with high end programs, but its more of a systems requirement issue. My laptop is dealing with heating issues and some power issues.

I'm trying to be very patient since this is a new pc. I'm not running a lot of programs on it and the ones I do are very small. I think I just have to get used to XP.

my biggest problem is it doesn't do regular chores - like vacuum, wash the dishes, do the laundry, you know things like that. It's not usually the computer that ticks me off, it's some websites that have so much crap loaded onto one page it freezes my computer. People just go overboard with certain flashy crap on their sites and myspace pages included.

I really hate to rub it in, but I have no complaints about my PC, it is over 2 years old and had hung maybe 4 or 5 times since I have had it. Of course, I should come clean here.. I don't run WIndows, I am an Apple person, Mac OS X all of the way!

You should be proud to be able to say you have no complaints with your pc. I know I'm jealous.

Considering that I started out using xp, ctry, I don't have anything to compare it with. One big problem I've always had is using Internet Explorer with xp. It never seems to want to behave as I would like for it to. I always end up getting pop-up messages stating that it has to close. I also hate it when I download some games and cannot play them-although I am not sure this is an xp problem.

hello ctrymuziklvr, i would say i haven't experienced much of problems with my pc though i had virus problems twice.but that too has subsided since i started using zone alarm security suite.and now its running absolutely fine without any problems.but i am having only 126MB RAM in my pc.so thats much of a concern for me now.i am planning to upgrade that incase it shows problems in future.

I've heard that zone alarm is one of the best programs for virus's. As for RAM you just need to go and buy some.

If the keyboard is getting that hot I would have someone look at it. You could be doing more damage if you continue to use it that way.

LOL, I have XP now as well and you are so right, it takes programs longer to close. The worse is when I decide to shut down for the night, it takes for ever! Drives me nuts. Also my display will vibrate when it first starts up, never did that till I switched to XP, so I am pretty sure it's causing it.

the common problems that i encounter are file corruption and virus attacks. sometimes i can fix it with a simple repair but sometime i need to format my PC and re-install all my softwares. it's a good thing that i have a knowledge in pc troubleshooting so i will not have to go and pay for a PC technician to repair my pc.

I have XP but as it is my first computer I have nothing to compare it with but I find it slow sometimes closing programs, have you tried a different browser? Most people use IE which I think is slow but there are others that are faster to use such as firefox and crazy browser, they are easy and free to download and use and you might find one of them faster to use. At the momemt I use mainly crazy browser and opera and find them both OK.

I know Windows XP have some bug but the problem you are telling is not a problem at all. Your computer must be low on memory (RAM). It only happens if the applications take long to load or close when your RAM is not big enough to support the tasks you are giving your CPU. Please try to upgrade your computer.

the biggest problem is resetting. it often resets by itself, so i feel very tired and boring. but i dont' know how to slove it. when i am typing a discussion or a response, then it resets again, then i have retype it again. it is a boring job, isnt' it? frankly, i know little about my computer, so if there is a problem about it, then i must wait my boyfriend to solve it. haha. do you know the reason why it resets by itself?

The biggest problem is that once a virus hits my computer, even thoough i have installed an antivirus yet one anti virus doesnt help solve all problems..finally i got to format it everynow n then..also that all of sudden p.c hangs then restart n all that time consuming things start...it gets to irritating to solve all this..

You should try cleaning up your hard drive through the add and remove programs page because that is usually the problem with this situation or try defragmenting your disk this should be done every month this will hopefully help

I think the thing that I have the most problem with is the finger mouse thingy on my laptop, it has a mind of it's own sometimes. It likes to scroll up and down when I really don't want it to, or not work when I really need it too. LOL My computer drives me nuts most of the time anyway.
