I made apple mint jelly one year and it was by far my husband's favorite way for me to use mint, but I don't think I'll have enough mint this year for that. I love it fresh for tea. It's an way different flavor, to me, than dried. But I think there is more there fresh than I can use that way. I probably will dry the rest for winter tea. But a saw a recipe for appple mint walnut bread, so I will have to see if I have enough for that. What ways have you used mint? What is or are your favorite/s? Do you grow mint, get some given to you, buy it at a store or a Farmer's Market? Do you prepare it some way or buy it already prepared (like in a jelly)? Do you have varying amounts of it from year to year or can you count on the same amount from your garden, friend/s, store or market?

I should preserve what I grow in some way, but I like to make noodle bowls for the family in the summer... our son-in-law grills beef, chicken, and shrimp while I fix rice noodles. I put shredded lettuce, cilantro, mint and cucumbers in the bowls, add the noodles, and the meats go on top... I make a garlic sweet and sour sauce to pour over. There is usually a lull between noodle days, while we wait for it to grow back! I keep the pots going in the greenhouse during the winter... we don't get as much, but its nice to have for holidays. Then there's the Mojito!!

Mint, sugar, rum, club soda and lime... heaven in the summertime! Mint and lime are the two things that help me feel cool. I make them taller and not quite as strong, so they're nice for sipping on the porch in the evening!

I love minted lamb with mashed potato, yorkshire pudding and vegetables. Alas i do not grow my own but purchase it from a market near to me. I also like it in my hot chocolate I never really thought about all the different ways you can use mint in cooking but i think i will try something different now!

I used to love when my Mom would make lamb, she'd do garlic cloves. But my friends did minted and I loved both very much. That's 2 for hot minted chocolate, guess I just have to do it now! Take care

Rarely, I put it in my bread. More commonly I'll put it in hot chocolate :) I know its not that outstanding but I thought I would at least share.

I appreciate all ideas. Chocolate mints are one of my favorite ways to eat chocolate, so you would think I would think to put it in hot chocolate, but I wouldn't have. That's a wonderful idea. Thank you for sharing.
