You can straighten your hair without damaging it. You just need to know the tricks. First, ALWAYS use some type of straighting spray when you straighen your hair. This keeps the straightner from frying your hair. Try not to use the straighter every day. When you was your hair, always condition it. Use your shampoo, rinse it, then wring all the water out, and condition you hair. Leave it in for a few minutes, then rinse. Let your hair air dry if you have time, instead of blow drying. Go to a hair salon regularly. At least once a month, if not more. Hope this helps some! I too have curly and thick hair, and I straighten my hair. To this day I have never had split ends, and my hairdresses says I have some of the healthiest hair she's ever seen. Which is saying a lot with all the torture it's been through. (Straighter, hair dryer, dying.)

Wow! That's impressive. What type of straightening spray do you use? I've tried a few products (some sprays, some creams) and I haven't quite found one that I really like yet.

Right now I'm using: Design Line Get it Pressed Flat Iron Spray. It smells really good, and does a great job for my hair.

Hello, first of all i think u should consult a dermathologist, because normally theres bodys anormalies like problems with hormones or either diferent kinds of allopecias... something that u may solve with only a visit to the doctor... instead of buying and buying products that may end up screwing ur hair more then before... Some products are described for diferent kind of problems with hair... If u dont know what the problem is... how do u expect to solve it? I am sorry for my poor english but i guess i did make myself clear no? Hope the best to u and also hope you can find the solution to ur problem.

I done the same thing my hair is curly to and i left the strightener on to long in one spot and i had a big bald spot when I went to get my hair trimed she told me to not use anyy heat on my hair and use a lot of cond. on it she told me to piut it on and leave it for about 15 min and rince it real good and then put on a leave in one and not to put any kind of dye or strightner on it until it stronger so right now i have to live with my curly hair cause I don't want to damage it any more then it already is. If you have long hair go and find the biggest hair rollers ya can and roll your hair whit them and let it dry on it on

If you have slit ends, there is no cure for them. You have to cut them off. A split end is a breakage in your hair basically due to damage or lack of moisture. But here are few tips how to avoid them 1.Use a hair protector spray 2. Use the lowest heat setting possible 3.USe the wide toothe comb. 4.Extremly hot water can affetc your hair. 5.stope wearing pony tails. 6.Have a trim regularly, every 4 month. 7.Do not straighten your hair every day.

I know it sounds gross, but try washing your hair with an egg. I've done before, and it makes your hair healthy and shiny.

To minimize on the damage done to your hair you need to realize that damage that heat styling does to your hair. Nothing is really going to repair the damage except for a hair cut. But I would recommend using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and even a deep treatment. Aveda makes a great line called Damage Remedy to help prevent damage from heat styling, coloring and other processing. Check it out on www.Aveda.com

I'm having the same problem with split ends and I don't understand it because I never use heat in my hair. I don't want to cut a lot of it because I'm trying to grow it long so I just cut the ones I see. I also try to keep my hair moisturized because it gets dry. I get lazy but I try to put conditioner on my hair and leave it on for at least 30 minutes before I wash it. You can try to condition your hair more and keeo it moisturized.

When I used to use hair dryer or similar thing my hair split so easy and not just at the bottom but you can see splits all over the hair. I now dont use any heat generating things on my hair and I dont have to cut my hair because of dry or damaged ar split hair. The heat would dry your hair and thats why it splits. Try not using it or if you do find a froduct that you can apply after shower. Something like stay on conditioner or something like that to give your hair extra moisture. Have a trim as soon as you see some damage to prevent any furder damage.

ok we all know that heat dammages your hair specially the hair dryer but also if you drive with your windows down alot with your hair flying in the breeze can also cause split ends. the only surer fire way to get rid of them is to cut your hair and to straighten your hair i suggest getting your hair damp(not dripping wet) and then putting in 5 brades when you sleep it will leave it wavy but straighter then not doing any thing at all

I wanted to add to a couple of the suggestions that are already here. I found out from my hair dresser the last time that I went in that the type of shampoo and conditioner can make a difference as well. Apparently the labels that have for "Damaged Hair" or for "curly hair" or for "thin hair" aren't always as descriptive as they need. I have really full hair and I have been coloring and perming for years. (and an occasional flattening) I had started using a for damaged hair shampoo but apparently it was adding to my problem. I don't remember too many details other than that the type can make a difference. I also use the Pantene products and they have done wonders for me. But you should check with a salon professional for advice on the best type of shampoo and conditioner for your type of hair. It really made a difference for me. Plus all of those damage repair techniques that the others have listed will go a long way as well. Good luck!

Stop using any products available in the market, Start using mixture of almond oil and coconut oil for couple of months and you will see the results. You can also use the henna before you take the bath.

Well the good news is that you don't have to spend a lot of money to fix that. I find that Pantene ProV works really well for spilt ends, they've updated their product and it's even better now. I've heard too that just conditioning your hair with any conditioner helps out as well.

well if you damaged your hair too much the best and only thing to fix it so it looks healthy is to cut off the dried damaged ends and let it grow back and then go to a professional hair dresser and have he or her smooth it out for you. It will prob. be expensive, but you will at least be happier with the results. If you do things cheaply at home like I have many times, don't expect a high quality result, SO GO TO A GOOD SALOON, YOU DESERVE IT ANYWAY! GOOD LUCK! AND ALSO DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT EITHER, MY DAD WOULD SAY IF YOUR HAIR IS ON YOUR HEAD THEN YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

Ok I have had the same problem recently but my hair is broken because I highlighted it and I pull it up way too tight too often. I used Pantene pro v restoratives, the time renewal one and using that for a week I have already seen a difference. I also have gotten redken extreme deep fuel conditioning treatments. They're little packets of some really deep conditioning treatments. You may have to use two of the packets depending on how long or thick your hair is. It is somewhat expensive but it has really helped my hair already and I have only been doing this routine for a week. Good luck, its hard being a girl sometimes

Once your hair splits you need to get it trimmed. There are products out that will seal the ends but it still doesn't heal them. Chi has a straightening system that is for works well without damaging it so badly, one is very expensive the other is resonable. What type of product did you use?
