I scraped my knees quite badly and it really has been hard to wear pants for the past 2 days, even with bandages. and I hurt my wrist so that it hurts to lift anything heavy. My daughter thinks I should go for x-rays, but I really don't have time until tomorrow after work. On top of it all, I'm getting a cold, which is probably why I fell, being a bit fevered. I just wish I could take a few days off to heal, but I need the money too badly. I really hate being poor!

Yes - being poor sucks! And having no insurance makes it even worse!

Yes, I can't imagine not having free health care like people in the States

Make some time to go see a doctor. Sometimes we think we are just banged up but it souds like your wrist may be badly sprained. Scraped knees hurt so much because they are constantly being bent and slow to heal. Take care of yourself!

its been 60 hours, the scrapes hardly hurt, unless I have to kneel, then it is excruciating. I got down to pick some socks up from under a shelf tonight and had to get help to get back onto my feet. I haven't felt such an invalid since the last time I had pneumonia. The muscles under the scrapes and my wrist still ache like crazy though

Oh dear! It is sad to fall over and miserable to have a cold. I hope your wrist and knees feel better soon. I know what you mean about not having enough time to go for x-rays. Years ago I went to visit a university during my exam timetable. I had one exam on Monday, an interview for a course at the university on Tuesday and another exam on Wednesday. I was in a hurry to get home after my successful interview but I fell over a double step that I had not noticed. Amazingly an ambulance turned up one minute later! It took me to the hospital. They put me on a bed and I waited to have my wrist x-rayed. But I would miss my train home so they put a plaster on me and told me to visit my local hospital the next day. The journey home was painful. The x-ray said that it was broken. I was given extra time for one exam luckily and I passed with the grades I wanted. I got into the university.
