I suppose this will date me but I can't help myself. I listen to the classic country music. I don't mean Garth Brooks. I mean Loretta Lynn, Lynn Andersonn, Johnny Cash ,Glen Campbell, Roy Clark and Buck Owens. Anyone else out there that grew up on this and still enjoys it?

Well, you wouldn't know it by looking at my pic, but I actualy like willy nelson. Theres just a certain simple and easy feeling to his music that you just dont get these days. I grew up in a house devided by music. My father was old time country, a lot of the artists you mentioned. And my mother was the rocker. She turned me on to the likes of aerosmith, black sabath, rush, kiss, styx, etc. I grew up with a diverse taste in music though.

That's cool. But do you still listen to the old country music? It's hard to find on the radio here in TX. which is funny in AZ we had a few pretty good stations.

Can't find it in TEXAS? lol. I don't listen to it rtegularly, I'm still a die hard progressive and hard rock fan. Once in a while if it's on i will. We have about 200 country stations up here and a lot of them play the oldies. Some play currnet country regularly but do the old stuff on sundays.

It's difficult to find anyone out there that doesn't want the station changed as soon as an old country classic comes on. It's a dieing breed of music listeners.

..yup, that's me.. grew up with Hank Williams (sr) and Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Kline, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash... and some are just not coming to mind! And I still love them.. tho I go for the more lively ones and not the really sad, sad ones.. Except for some of roy Orbison's.. Then there was also chuck Berry... and Elvis..

Classic country music was my dad's favorite. I would listen to all the old favorites with him. Now every time I hear a Johnny Cash song, I think of my dad.
