How Do You Control Your Temper?

Everyone has the moment when bad temper is about to visit. I would go to my karate training and trave exercises, the sweat on my body and the exhausted feeling can let go my pressure~ How do you control it? Does your way work?

I write poetry. If I am about to lose my temper, I remind myself of my abusive childhood. It puts things into perspective & keeps me from hitting someone or something. I didn't like being beaten, and I don't want anyone else to feel the fear & pain that I used to feel every day.

It actually depends on where I am. If I'm just at home, i usually go to my room and lock up my door. I want to be alone. If I'm outside the house, I usually go for a walk or i drive my way to a park.

Hi Mari123, personally I use breathing exercizes to control my temper and the counting to 10 before answering (which will be snapping instead of answering if I didn't do the count ;)) Due to this I have been able to control my explosive at times character, and am glad. The exercizes you mention will not help much when you get angry at a place where you wouldn't be able do any ;) TheFortunes

I will play basketball to release all the energy that i have. Play basketball is my favourite sports. It works on me.
