I'm so frustrated with Mozilla, I could scream!

About a month ago, I switched to Mozilla Firefox after hearing everyone brag how much better it was than Internet Explorer. And, for awhile it worked as advertised. That is until about three days ago, when the latest version of Mozilla automatically installed itself onto my computer. Since then, everything Mozilla touches goes wrong. Every few days my bookmarks get erased (by Mozilla); it's running ten times slower than Internet Explorer; freezes up and becomes unresponsive when I mouse click the screen and Mozilla won't let me stay logged into my favorite sites (like My Lot) anymore. I have to login every time and that's becoming a real hassle. Does anyone know why Mozilla would be acting strange? Is this happening to anyone else using Mozilla? I've scanned my computer a dozen times looking for spy ware and worms, but can't find anything. Would appreciate some help or information. I'm so frustrated with Mozilla, I'm seriously thinking of switching back to slow-mo Internet Explorer. What do you think?

Hello beautyqueen.. Yes! I do experience too. It gets slower and slower especially when there are a lot of tabs that are opened. It freezes and gets hang. That is one of the disadvantages of Mozilla Firefox, but overall, it is safer when compared to IE. Currently, I am using Opera browser version 9.23. It is very fast when compared to Mozilla and IE. It has a speed dialing. When you try to go back from your previous visited page, it will load so easily and quickly. I really loved this browser when compared to other browsers. If mozilla has plugins, opera has widgets. When it comes on security, opera also does its jobs pretty well. It blocks pop-ups, which is very good. Otherwise, it is much safer too. I really liked the overall performance of this opera browser. Even though I am opening a lot of tabs, it would not hang or freeze like the mozilla does. I am so impressed with its performance. That's it. Hope this would help to you in any way! Have a nice day and God speed!

Opera is pretty hawt, I can admit. But yes if your computer isn't that powerful, multiple tabs in firefox will eat your browsing alive.

That's strange. I use Firefox and my version is 2.0.0.7, which I believe is the current version of Firefox offering. I've had no problem with Firefox, and I love using this browser over Internet Explorer and Netscape. I've gotten very little virus by not using IE. In fact, I have decided giving up using IE many months ago, because compared to Firefox, IE is slower and frustrating to use on my PC.

Version 2.0.0.8 is out. I had a discussion on it. Just hit Check for Updates in Firefox.

I had similar problems with firefox so I switched to Opera browser, it has muti tabbed browsing like firfox plus by putting your cursor on the tabs you can preview that web page in a small window. I liked this feature very much.

huh?? I've never had a problem with mozilla. My version of mozilla gets upgraded everytime an upgrade is availiable on the internet. Maybe you have a problem with one of mozillas plugins. If you disable that plugin, mozilla should run fine. hope this helps you. kind regards chris.

first of all, thanks for posting this. I have been thinking to switch to Mozilla since many people suggested me to. I'm so used with IE, it isn't the fastest but well I'm not a techie so switching to different browser may be a problem for me. I hope you find a solution to this

Like some other posters I to use firefoz and I have not encountered any of the problems you mention. I did have a small problem after updating once but it was fixed the next time I opened my browser and after I used ccleaner. I rarely use IE nowadays since firefox works better for me. DO you clean your temporary files ? Sometimes when there's too many everything slows down. Or like someone said something is corrupted ... or check with your antivirus to make sure you don't have any real problem in your computer. YOu can always uninstall and try again, or uninstall completely and go back to IE it's a matter of choice really. In my case I really don't trade firefox for IE but other people might prefer it.

Hello beautyqueen26, I don't really have any problem with Mozilla Firefox. I have switched to Mozilla quite sometimes. I seldom use Internet Explorer nowadays. Maybe, if you don't like it, you can just switch back to IE. You can anytime switch back to Mozilla if you want to... The choice is yours, dear friend. I hope before you make your final decision, you could find the root of the problem.

Thats strange. i have been using firefox fr a while now and have never had any problems with it.I find it a much better browser that IE though i does hog a lot of memory. Your problem may be caused because of a paticular extension. Try uninstalling or disbling some extensions till you find the one that is causing the problem. If that doesn't work, you could try reinstalling firefox.
