I heard on the wireless this morning of a woman who successfully sued the MoD for £484,000 (incl. £50k legal costs) of our hard-earned tax, because she had to leave her typing job as her thumb became sore and she got depressed. Meanwhile a soldier that loses a limb gets £57,000, or £8,250 if he/she gets shot. Apparantly the rationale is that she lost the ability to earn, typing is all she knows, whereas a soldier can be re-trained. Should the legal system be changed? Or should we all become serial litigants and make more money sueing employers than we get in wages?

actually, the loopholes of the law are there, and very very smart people take advantage of them. however, despite being awarded that much money, in the end, these people don't find real happiness. there is no joy and contentment and they will find out that money that was obtained by malicious means will not bring good at all. for me, nothing still beats earning money the hard way. :-) and you have better appreciation for it as well. ;-)

This sueing businewss is becoming endemic. Australians lag behind the US when it comes to ligitation, but we are catching up fast. Now I have to sign endemity forms for my daughter to go on a camp, a class excursion, her swimming & her horse riding. Even I had to sign a form saying that I wouldn't sue as a parent of a child who swims, even though I don't swim.

That woman should be shot, complaining and using peopls time and money cause of that stupid reason. Suing should be illegal, it never does any good, its a system for weak people to steal and cause trouble for good citizens.
