Why exercise?

I know what soem of you are thinking. It's a pain. I don't have time for it. I have no motivation. I don't see the results. Once I start, I stop. Getting into an exercise routine is the hardest. I know from experience. Starting exercising is quite simple, what's hard is sticking to that routine no matter what. We get sick, we get exhausted from work, things show up that keep us from gettign our workout. But is this day and age there really are no excuses. Our mind creates so many excuses for us. I had no motivation and I really didn't feel like I wasn't making any improvements. I'm so grateful I started going again. It really does make a huge difference. It's not just that won't won't feel guilty when I bite into that fudge brownie, but it's more than that. I feel more energized, healthier. I'm less irritable, and more mellowed out. I feel an overall difference in attitude. I reccommend exercise to everyone. Whatever you can do, just do something. It will make a big difference in your life. What are your experiences with exercise, whether they be good or bad.

I guess I need to really learn how to discipline myself. Exercise can be fun, and yeah you're right, we can come up with so many excuses. Sometimes I'll exercise daily for a month and then something will come up and I'll just quite cold turkey for some reason. Then I'll pick it up again (walking, treadmill, aerobics etc) for a couple of months and the cycle continues. Boy do I need to discipline this part of my life. Oy!

I love exercise actually. But, after I came out from warded, I still didn't start yet. I live it for almost 1 year. You know, I feel so different when doing exercise and not. I can feel my body are in stable, feel the strength, no sleepy, active etc. But, now I live it for so long. I feel weak, sleepy, not active... So, exercise is very important to maintain our strength and health body...

hi friend....!!!!! its nice and important that we are discussing here about health .In present setup generally we people don't have much time for our health and body. we don't have time for sports n all others activities which were the real exercise for our body and mind. now most are working in office and passing 6 to 8 hours on chairs. And second thing we changed the our life in such a way that dont need much energy. in additionally we eating a little bit more(much more) so to being healthy we have the only way that is exercise. but joining the gym is the not the not permanent solution. so only way is the mild excersie like cycling, jogging ,swwimming because here you can be a long race horse gud luck

I love working out. It does take about 3 weeks for you to start "wanting" to exercise. Before that, its just a job itself to get yourself to the gym, or wherever you work out.

Yea, i agree that u should do exercise anything is fine as long as you do it, because by the end of the day, ur body is going to benefit and the more exercise the better you'll feel doing the daily work that you do. i find that after i exercise, most of my daily tasks become easier to do and i feel much better. without exercise i am tired and woozy through out the day, but then again thats just me lol.

I had a somewhat very similar problem. I couldn't even do more than 20 pushups before being exhausted, I know it sounds pathetic.. After a while, I just started by doing sets of 10 pushups whenever I had the time. Before too long I was already able to do 50 without stopping, so I mean everyone really has their own experiences, mine being somewhat odd.

exercise - starting the exercise is difficult but once you get started it gets easier
For me the difficult part is actually getting up, putting on your workout clothes then start warming up for the exercise. Once I've done that there's no stopping me. It helps when you try to establish a regular schedule when to exercise. That way your mind is conditioned that when the time comes "I have to exercise". By the time I finish exercising, I'm glad that I forced myself to do it. Also, it doesn't have to be such a vigorous exercise. Even a little bit of exercise is better than nothing.

I live in the mountains and exercise daily just walking up the slope from my house to the mailbox. I too agree with daily exercise I just do not like having to go to the gym, etc. I walk and bend and stretch doing my daily chores and playing with my dogs. I am also building my house and that is plenty of exercise for me. sunnywaters

I don't really do traditional exercise, by either working out or following some sort of routine, but I think that I do get quite a lot of exercise in my everyday life. I do a lot of walking to and from my bus stops, as well as a reasonable amount of walking at work. It might not be a complete exercise regimen, but at least I am not completely inactive. I feel like I am doing much better in terms of this than I did at my old job, where I drove every day and didn't leave my desk very often.

At first, we should really expect to experience some pains and fatigue in our body if we are going to exercise first time around. However, that is normal, as our muscles were stretched and worked out at that point of time. We will experience some light dizziness and exhausted, that is why I recommend drinking a full glass of water before starting to exercise. Warm up your body first such as stretching, as this will prevent you from having aches and pains around your body. I am glad that you have realized the importance of exercising. Keep going and I am sure you will be able to maintain yourself physically fit. Have a nice day and God speed!

I have to agree with you.We wuld find all kind of exuces like don't have a time, i am not in the mood, just stop doing something for ourself.Thank God i am not like that.I love to exercise, because I fell I am doing something for my body, it gives me energy and I feel much better. Also how great it is, when you walk to the store and everybody look at you, because you have great body.I am not saying it is easy to discipline myself and of course there are days, when I have to force myself, but than I feel like in the heaven.I only wish more and more people would start to care about themself, about their health and start exercise.

It's true, exercising not only allows oxygen to travel through your body keeping every part of your body feeling fresh, it also allows for oxygen to flow to the brain which allows for a higher mental endurance. I don't find it hard to get into an exercising routine because once I do, I feel great enough to continue. It's just I feel self conscious living with two other room mates. I can't help but feel that way. I know I should just kick myself and deal with it but I'm also a procrastinator hahah. In the end even if I am in an exercise routine, I'll miss that one day then two days then three and it's over. I try to keep up by making up for the lost reps if i miss a day or two. However my last routine got broken when I moved out and had to temporarily stay at a friend's place for a week and the self conscious problem came back.

Exercising is a great activity for both the mind and body. Personally I enjoy running as my primary exercise (and biking if I have the time). I also do sit ups and push ups and while I don't really enjoy the dull routine of weight lifting I do do that a few times a week as well to keep in shape.

I go to my gym 5 days a week.I'm 57 going on 40 body wise.I have accepted it as part of my daily ritual,I cannot imagine life without it.Where as until my 50th I was still smoking, drinking heavily and no exercising. I was still single then, with the regular attacks of the gout and going nowhere fast.
