Having fun with digital art

Tsunami - This was a photograph of a beach scene with some rocks. I was playing with my photo-editing software and used a twirl filter and got this result. I liked it so am sharing what can be done with some photo software

I've been playing a lot lately with my digital camera and Photoshop 7, a software program for editing pictures. This program has so much neat stuff on it that it will take me a lifetime to learn it all, but I'm sure having fun in the meantime. This was a routine picture of a nearby beach that I put into a filter called twirl. Anybody else here do digital art with their photos?

Poinsettia with soft cross-stitch effect - A photoshop creation of a photo
Mmm--show off..LOL That really is a great effect, it almost makes the photo look like a painting...gee, I don't even know if I have twirl effect on mine as I have the cheaper version of Photoshop..that is Elements 4.0...I do putz around with some of the other effects I do have...like the watercolor effect, cross-stitch, etc. Here's one of my creations...now I'll have to go look and see if I have that swirl effect!

Hi SusieQ223, this shot really looks nice the way you did it :) I commented and rated it too. I haven't gotten the time to play with it as yet but will try some ideas, and thanks for reminding me :) TheFortunes

I know what you mean. It is a difficult program to learn. I've had mine for a year and even taken a couple of classes on it. Trouble is, I do stuff, then can't remember how I did it!

Our Gray Tabby Ellie - This our female gray cat named Ellie around 4 months old.
Hi..love your Avatar...we have a female kitty named Ellie that looks kind of similar. I've included a photo of her..hope you like it and comment. Anyway...I like your swirl effect and have been wanting to learn to play with Photoshop...I understand there is a lot to learn. Hopefully we will both become good at it with practice. Anyway..good luck with it.. Raia

There is a whole lot to learn! I can't even figure out how to rotate a picture yet! Thanks for your reply and your compliment on my avatar. My cat's name is Sammy.

I'll be right with you as soon as I buy a new digital camera. I plan on doing so in the next month. I have photoshop elements 6 on my computer, but just can't seem to find the time to learn all the cool stuff that it does. I want to learn it so I can get caught up on scrapbooking. Or at least start where I am and scrapbook current stuff. I want to get back into graphic design and photoshop is a must to learn.
