I know asteroids constitutes perhaps a bigger threat to our survival on earth than the much hyped global warming, because global warming is not flush event-it is a gradual effect but ateroids could wipe off life here at once and completely in a matter of hours if it lands one day. Is there a contingency plan for an asteroid attack on earth?

Hi academic, I am not concerned about an asteroid attack on earth, it could possibly happen, I suppose but There is nothing we can do about it. Global warming on the other hand is a much bigger problem then many people think. Many world leaders are almost ignoring it altogether. It is indeed a very big, big problem. The other problem that I see is that there is a great danger that we will destroy our world in a nuclear war. That I believe is our greatest danger. Blessings.

Personally i am of the opinion that we could not do anything, than to pray god, to safe guard the earth, from being hit..
While on the other hand i believe the scientists are on the way of making a combat.. i have read somewhere that NASA is getting ready to intercept the asteroid in the midway... and blast it into tiny pieces,by bombing it.
Take care friend.
