Shouldn't the city send the refugees back to the U.S.

The refugees are flooding into our city and it's costing money the city doesn't have to spare. If they sneak across the border, they would be held and deported back to the States or Mexico - so it would be reasonable to expect the same treatment even though they were transported across our border.
Is this happening here because we have a weak mayor and council?

Back to the US? We have more refugees here than we can handle! I was doing errands yesterday and noticed that I was the only white person walking in the streets. There are more orientals, jamaicans, spanish, african americans and God knows what else here in my very small city. This is only my city. The whole US has this problem and because we're such a "great" country we continue to let them in.
Our Statue of Liberty has a plaque on it saying:
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
And we have to live up to this! Personally, I don't want them let their own country's take care of them. It shouldn't be our problem.

Our city is crumbling. People that were born here are leaving because there's no work, very little affordable housing and people are walking away from their homes because they can't afford the water and utilities....
People in other countries need to know that they might be stepping into a situation just as bad as the one they left behind.
I guess if we ship them back to the States, I just figure they're stronger and can handle deporting them much better than we can.
