Are you as in love with your spouse as you were when you were dating?

When we are young we tend to feel that butterflies in the stomach feeling each time we see or spend time with our partners. Before they become our partners, we often feel lightheaded or excited when we see them from across the room or across the street. We often take that feeling as love. When I started dating my husband, it was all smiles and fun and lighthearted. When we decided to marry I was excited about it. Today, nearly five years later, I don't have the fluttery feeling anymore. I am sure I am not only AS in love as I was before. I am sure that I am MORE in love with him. We have been through happy and stressful situations together. In fact, it seems like we face more stress than outright joy. However, that doesn't mean that I am unhappy with him. I look for him to be by my side in good times and especially in bad times. We have held each other's hands in serious illness and we have smiled and laughed too.

I guess at the beginning of a new relationship, we are in love with the person. After some time together, we just love the person, but are not necessarily in love with them anymore. I've been together with my hubby for a little over 5 years, and i know i love him more than when we first started dating, but it's true that i don't get the butterflies anymore, although somedays i miss him so much, i get excited when i know he's coming home from work. But that's just me LOL

We've only been married one year and 6 months and I am glad that as of todate I am more in love with him than before and I feel the same way from him. yes, we have tough times too and we've seen each others worst and yet it made our love stronger as ever.
