Has this baby changed my niece?

My niece was a free spirit who was into the prescription drugs and street drugs along with alcohol, anything for a good time. Well, she ended up getting pregnant to her boyfriend. Although she tried to kick her bad habits while pregnant she would slip up sometimes. Since she has had the baby she is one of the best mothers I have seen. It brings me joy to hear her on the phone, talking the baby talk and hearing him giggle. I hope this is a lifelong transformation. I wanted to see if anyone had any advice on how to encourage this to continue, hopefully it will naturally. I tell her that she is a great mom and try to give praise. Has anyone else been through this with a family member before?

Good for her, and Good for you. Your recognition and praise will go along way in helping this girl to stay on the right track. Yes I think she was bored with life, and now her baby has given her something to Live for. Keep up the encouragement, and remember, Love conquers All!

first of all, i want to welcome you into this mylot community... it is god to hear that your niece has turn into a new life ever since she has a baby... yes, a baby definitely can change a mother's life... anyway, you can continue to give her support and encouragement and if she really change because she realises her mistakes, then i believe that her changes will be permanent...

I think I also will be the best monther if i am pregnant.My baby will be a bright,healthy,lovely guy.
