What is your way of reviewing an article. What is your major area of evaluation? do you look at the language first or the content or the grammar or the way in which things are described? What is your first choice in evaluating a piece of a written article?

I just read it through to make sure it makes sense. While I'm reading it , I may see that my grammar needs to be corrected or a word taken out or replaced. But I don't read with having just one single thing in mind. That to me would be too time consuming.

Because I work as an editor, I definitely approach reviewing articles in a specific way. I look at things like spelling and grammar first, followed closely by the way the paragraphs are divided up. After I've reviewed all of that, then I will look more closely at the content. I find, however, that I'm often ready to dismiss an article just based on the spelling and grammar.

Usually I read through each sentance for spelilng/grammer and the "does this sentance make sense" factor. Then after I've gone through each sentance and the person corrects these things, I read each paragraph for the "does this paragraph make sense" factor. Finally, I read the whole article to see if it all flows well from paragraph to paragraph and if the conclusion makes sense based on all the points in the article.
