Do you do phone surveys?

I have be bombarded with phone surveys lately. I usually do online ones but for Canada I don't do as well as the States. It is a nice bonus now and then. But lately I get phone ones which I don't like so much. Who knows if the children will be singing Goofy Gubber or what! I like to do them because sometimes you may get a gifts for participating but don't find out till the end. But many times all it is will be a thank you and your opinion has been heard (which is still good) but... There is one I am suppose to do tomorrow morning but I don't know if I will get anything for it. I do like to voice myself on the topic of the survey too. But I would prefer if it was online. How about you? Do you draw the line somewhere when it comes to surveys?

Nope vicki. I don't do phone surveys but I already participated a lot of online surveys. However, ereps/telemarketers also called me, at first I answered their calls but not anymore right now. sometimes i got pissed off because they are just too persistent to keep calling.. they even wake me up if I wake up late in the morning already.

Yeah the hours can be bad. I have call display and don't usually answer calls that i don't know. However the kids sometimes pick up. Also sometimes you just have to cause they don't stop calling. Well I am getting a census that I am not alone in not wanting to do them. Thanks

Your right. sometimes, they're going to call you 3-5 times in a row with only few minutes interval and that annoys me much. Sometimes, I put the phone in our room in a mute mode, the other outlet is ringing but at least it's far from me. One time my husband was worried with me because I wasn't able to answer his calls. I didn't heard the phone ringing because it was in mute mode. LOL...Same here, I also have a caller ID so if I don't know who's calling or if it's unknown name I don't bother to pick up the phone. Just remind your kids not to answer any call whom you don't know so you won't be forced to get it...hehheeh

I have tried to get some surveys (paid ones) but the sites have either refused me membership or they have not given me surveys. The reason is I am not in US, UK, Canada or some other western country. However, I have heard from my friends there that taking surveys over phone is very much uncomfortable thing. They prefer surveys through internet only. This is perhaps internet surveys provide the flexibility of timings.

I too am sometimes caught up with similar circumstances where people call me up and start enquiring about something or offering some services. I try to avoid them most of the times and literally speak to them very rudely to avoid getting any similar calls from them in future.

I an usually a very polite person but it seems like with these people they mistaken politeness with a way to push their way in. I have had to be rude to some because when I was nice they just pushed harder. Thanks

I refuse to do phone surveys, they drive me nuts. It is bad enough getting phone calls from cold callers trying to sell me double glazing or car insurance, without the phone survey companies calling as well.

HEHEHE I haven't gotten the double glaze call yet. I do get a lot of charities which I never do. I give locally to my children's school, foodbank, clothing and household items to the depot. I like knowing that it is legit and that it is helping the community that in the past has helped me. Oh and my daughter sponsors a child.

I don't get involved in any kind of marketing or surveys on my home phone. I am very particular about giving out my landline number and God help any poor telemarketeer who does manage to get hold of me at home as they get a real earful. My number is ex-directory and I am registered with the TPS (telephone preference service) which has me on a list of people who do NOT wish to receive spam phone calls. I do many online surveys which I have signed up to and make a nice bit of pocket money from these but for reason I have a real issue with phone calls invading my privacy :)

I don't like to do phone surveys. In fact I avoid them as much as possible. I got one the other day about my car insurance Rep. Sometime they just repeat the same questions over and over and they don't really listen to you. You have to give them exact wording. You can't just say you are very satified they want a number from 1 to 10. And you don't get any thing for them. So I'm not doing any more. I'm also not too fond of some of the ones here on the net. You end up going from one sign up to another and it hard to know if you are really doing real survey until yoou get into them. A lot of them are just commercials for credits cards and so on.

No I do not do phone surveys. Do you get paid for them? I am guessing you do. That is the only way I would do them lol. Otherwise they take up too much time.

I am feeling less and less like I want to do them. They do take up time and online you don't hear the background of the children, tv, etc that may be happening. Also I can do an online survey at my leisure. Phone ones are whenever they are good for them. What if I need to use the bathroom. They can be long. And more often than not I get nothing for them. I mean I like my voice to be heard and sometimes you see stuff and say hey I picked that name or that commerical or something and think it is cool I had a little part in it. But I feel like I have better things to do with my time. Thanks for sharing your view dopey22girl

I call residences to do surveys wit me... yah its quite irritating already, especially political surveys... but i hope you people could understand that we're just doing our job... Doing these for living. In the industry, we follow a lot of rules. And we aim for nothing but to deliver accurate responses to people.

I don't like doing phone surveys, especially when they call my cellphone because it costs me money. And if there is no benefit, I don't want to do the survey because I have to tell them my private information.

Hi Vicky, I used to do several surveys p-er month online but this was years ago. They cost me too much time and it usually doesnt pay well enough, so no any for me no more. On the phone I simply refuse poltely but firmly, and say - sorry - no time and or interest. TheFortunes

Yeah it hardly seems worth it anymore for the length of time. I used to some for sweeps but then I thought if I want to do sweeps I can just enter contests with Roboform super fast and not spend 20 minutes on a survey for a sweeps I will never win. Thanks!

You said it. I remember in one week I was asked about the same thing, same questions for three different companies. And they were LONG 45 minute surveys about stuff I didn't care about. When the third one came I was very annoyed and they said only about ten minutes and I laughed knowing it wasn't. They can be annoying at the time they call too, like at 9:00 p.m. when I am tucking everyone to bed. Grr
