Who is the Halfwit?

October 17, 2007 12:55pm CST
Three times Formula One World champion Sir Jackie Stewart has recently been commenting to the press on the recent spying scandal within F1 and he has been particularly critical of the way The FIA has handled the whole affair and the harshness of the penalties levied against McLaren. This lead to the FIA president, Max Moseley to brand Jackie Stewart a "half wit". So who is right? Is Jackie Stewart a has been who should keep out of modern F1 or has Max Moseley gone too far?

That shows you how times have changed. Jackie is still a revered professional driver. And he is incredibly versatile in all areas of driving. He is very astute in his observations and I have not once found him to be biased toward a certain mindset in racing. To me, Max is trying to hard to prove that he can handle his position in FIA. Max is the wit here - quarter wit at that.

I heard a radio interview with Jackie Stewart the other day, he criticised no one and spoke nothing but sense. He had some real insight to offer on the seaon finale, he was brilliant.

A view shared by Stewart and a lot of other people.
