I was watching a preview for saw four today and it triggered a memory of a something I used to wonder about often. There are plenty of directors who create movies in which people die or are killed in horrific ways. Has anyone ever wondered about the mental health of these people? Think about it. Granted they have never actually killed people but when you compare them to people like Seung-Hui Cho from virginia tech....he wrote papers pretty similar to whats found in todays movies but people found him to be scary and he ended up killing thirty two people...I just wonder if the directors of today werent accepted as children. Or maybe making movies is how they get out their hidden feelings. What do you think?

i've often wondered that if they WEREN'T making movies, WOULD they be out killing? i mean you see them in intervies and they're normal, and have quite a sense of humor usually, but you do have to wonder! this was a wonderful thought kiobug...good that you brought this up!!

I have often wondered this myself Kio! So your not alone. Your right, where did the ideas come from if they themselves arent a bit intrigued or into this kind of thing. I do think that even though they do conjure up such images and actions, they can determine that its not a thing to actually go do, while Seung-Hui Cho followed through. He didnt see the fine line between fantasy and reality, and didnt know not to cross that line like most people would. Bay Lay Gray xx

I feel like he was well aware of that line but no one gave him a chance so it furthered his creepy personality. Im not saying I dont think he would never kill anyone. I think it could have been prevented or pushed back. People can be really stand offish to others. *You didnt sign it Bay Bay. How rude.* Im still trying to figure out what thats from. My boyfriend said Next Friday but thats Day Day not Bay Bay.

I was thinking this one was after I got that message or I was just distracted....wont let it happen again. *bowing to Kio* Please dont punish me! lol ; ) Yeah he was portrayed as a loner and not having many friends. I think if someone had opened up their heart to him and befriended him, maybe this wouldnt have happened. He might have became the next Stephen King! Bay Bay xx

Nah, I dont worry about their state of mind really. They write horror because they like it, just like I like to watch it, and had I been more creative id probably have written it too. And in case they are minorly affected by what they write at least they found a niche where they can unload those feelings rather than going nuts :D

I'm a horror movie fiend! I also like to read about the producers, directors and writers of most of the movies I watch. I think most of them just have very vivid imaginations and know how to use it to make lots and lots of money!

Thats true. I just dont get how you go through life with thoughts like that not being judged and fall into a career where thats all you do and make a lot of money doing it.
