This is shocking statistics for India where the joint family structure still exists- but now more and more old people are forced to live alone - who would you hold responsible? The changing culture, poverty or the parents themselves who do not form close bonds with children when they are young?

I think there r many situations for this phenonmenon. Now the life style between old and young r very different and maybe that's one reason. But I perfer living togther because they are old now , they protect you in the last decades and in the next ,it's your turn...whatever,they are my family.

Well it's diffcult to point out who is responsible for this situation.but it's good in some situations and at the same time it is bad.it's good when the old persons are getting a cahnce to lead there life as tehy whish.

i think the new generation is responsible for this. They donot care for their parents even when they are young and they want to stay alone
