Do you believe that by the time you are old enough to collect it, that Social Security will still be around for you to collect the funds that you have put into back out? I find it highly unlikely. Social Security is a program that has been looted for funds by politicians and other agencies in need of immediate funds after they have spent their entire budget. It is hanging on by a thread and has been for at least 20 years. Do you think when it goes that they will give you back all the money that you put into it? Did you know that you can now take the money that you have in Social Security and invest it? If you fail to invest wisely though, then what, you certainly can't go back to Social security and ask them to pay you again can you. Are you socking money away against the day that you will someday retire. If so what kind of fund or investment portfolio do you have it in, and do you know exactly how your money is performing today in the volatile market.
