Yes I was raised the same way too, and I take pride in being a woman of my word. My mother used to always say, your word is your bond and if it can't be trusted neither can you. I live by that standard.

I agree, I think that it is shameful how commercial the holiday season has become. Many kids today think that Christmas is all about Santa Clause and presents, when it is about what you said. Whew, sounds like you make a lot of resolutions! The idea behind making A resolution is that is only supposed to be one big one rather than a bunch of big ones, like quitting smoking, or building a better body, or losing weight, something that you want to change before another year rolls around that you did or wanted to change this past year. Don't go BIG BIG just go Big and you'll be okay.
