Every big town has it's idiosyncracies. You sound happier than you are unhappy there so I guess you have just decided to deal with the screwy street names and learn to navigate the town like a native, by the landmarks. They certainly don't have the best interests of the people who pay their salaries at heart. Either way the guillotine is off the table. But I do believe that it is high time that some of this reform they are always talking about begins to happen. I have heard lots of talk about reforms and adjustments that need to be made but I see neither one happening anywhere.
