do you want to reach 100 plus years old?

as i was surfing the net, i came across this item about the oldest person alive and who was also written in the Guinness World Record. in that article, the existing oldest person now is Edna Parker, 114 years old, from Indiana, U. S. A. after Yone Minagawa of Japan passed away this year who was also 114 years old. as i was reading that item, i also started contemplating and i asked myself if i would also want to reach that age and be that old. i think i wouldn't want to reach that age and be that old...i don't want to be 100 plus years old. i feel that it would be so lonely and tiring to be that old and still be alive. besides i wouldn't want to be a burden to my family. even if my family would decide to put me in a home for the elderly, i would still be a burden to them since that would mean additional expense on their part for paying the home or institution for taking care of me. i also find it so sad to be that old and be living in a home for the elders or the old people. isn't it heartbreaking to reach that age and to find yourself in that place and to die in that place. i have nothing against this institutions who take care and accommodate old people or the elderly in fact i admire them for such a noble job. what about you, would you want to reach 100 plus years old? do you want to grow that old? please share your thoughts on this matter. ('.')

i don't like to reach in that age because maybe i can't reach that age..lol yes, i agree with you that reaching that age would become burden, feel lonely if theres no there to take care of me..i don't want them to put me in a home for the elderly, i will be more lonely i'm sure..

same hear. that's also what i think...i won't reach that age anymore...I'm probably lucky if I reach 50 - 60.

that's also one of my goals. i hope to achieve it even before i die so i can at least see other countries aside from where i am now. i hope you get your VISA too even earlier than 75.

no no no ...........never.........I don't want to live one day more after I become a burden to my chidren. when I am not able to take care of myself.....I don't want to live life like a lifeless object though I am still a living soul.
Besides if you live long and your siblings don't....then you will be most unluckiest person on this earth to see deaths of all your loving ones........OH NO MY GOD....please let my younsters, my children live long and let me die before them.....no I don't want to live so long and make any new record..........no no no.........

that's exactly my sentiment. isn't it so terrible just thinking about it? it would truly be so unlucky and so, so sad to outlive your children and other descendants...seeing them die one after the other. that is so tragic.

It's indeed a heartbreaking experience when you have to reach the age of 100 and more. Besides from not being active anymore, forgetful, and weak I think it would also be a burden on the part of my family to take care of me whether at home or at an institution for the elderly. I prefer to rest forever in case my age reaches the 100 mark. I don't want to live like a rotten vegetable without no use at all.

i'll be happy if i've reach between 60-70 years old. I dont want to live too old since its such a burden to my family and children. Medicine and medical needs alone cost alot for senior citizen not to mention its hard to be mobile even if you can drive around by yourself. And you feel lonelier being more than 80's since most of your friends have gone over the rainbow. I dont want the feeling of pity surrounding me for my remaining years.

that's also what i expect, that I'd only live till I'm 60. i guess reaching 70 would even be a miracle for me. that's exactly my concern...it would be so lonely to be in that kind of situation. ('.')

Yes, I would like to reach that age... but I dont want my physical appearance to look too old and ugly. I want to be an immortal!!

Yes - I would live forever, if I could. As long as I'm in reasonably good health, I would love to grow old & help raise my children & their children.

It is my fervent prayer to see my kinds settle down and have their own lives to live. By then, i can totally rest. But I don't think I still need to reach 100 years old to materialize it. 70 is already too much for me. 60 will be just fine. And besdies, I don't want to reach 100 just to get sick and be a burden to my love ones. I am crossing my fingers that when i reach 60, i still healthy.

of course i do, if i can reach 100 plus years old i will go on surfing in the internet, May be I can see my children's children's children ,how happiness i will. but if i don't reach 100 plus years old, I hope i can reach 80 years old, 80 years old is enough for me
