I was complaining to a friend at work that my new haircut was too short. She told me to take prenatal vitamins and my hair and nails would grow in no time. What is in prenatal vitamins that isn't in regular vitamins? And do you think it will really work to make my hair grow faster?

Yes , they will help you. And not only for that. They will help for skin. And many many other. ( but need to know what vitamin will help for that ) . It's healthly to drink one tablete of multivitamine once a day ( if you don't eat mutch froots ).

It's more likely that being pregnant made your friend's hair grow quickly and she probably ate better generally so her nails were stronger. The vitamins that I've heard can affect hair and nails contain silicone, calcium and sulfur. To improve hair and nails: Eat grains, legumes, nuts, pulses and seeds. Add sulfur- and silicon-rich foods to diet. Onions, broccoli, fish and sea vegetables are all good sources. Eat food rich in biotin, such as brewer's yeast, brown rice and soybeans. Eat protein foods. Eggs are a good source as long as you don't have cholesterol problems. But meat, fish, chicken, etc. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Eat foods high in B vitamins.

What in the world is the person that commented on this post above talking about.?The person who commented above doesnt think thier is prenatal vitamins.Sorry to tell them but their is I took them when I was pregnant.I did a search about does Prental vitamin make hair grow? and the forum said that they doubt it.It contains extra folic acid, calcium and iron. And another person said they tried them and it didnt make thier hair grow any faster.Sorry.I know how it feels to get a haircut to short.Believe me.I told the beauticion how I wanted my hair and she cut it a little bit below my ears and when I curled it it went even shorter.I felt like getting a wig.I dont think I look good in hair above my shoulders but most other people can pull it off good. But I wish you best in luck.Maybe the vitamins that say that make your hair grow faster might .But I'm not sure if they even work. You could maybe do a search for how to grow your hair faster and it might give you something.

Whether prenatal or not, nutritional supplements, in my experience can not only make hair grow better, but also keep it from graying. I know many people in their 60's 70's, and even 80's who have natural hair color as a result of proper nutrition. Here is a good article on prenatal vitamins: http://www.webmd.com/baby/guide/prenatal-vitamins Enjoy!

Vitamin E is needed if you want your hair to grow faster. It enhances good scalp circulation, which stimulate a good hair growth. This vitamin can be obtained by eating foods such as green leafy vegetables, peanuts, soybeans, palm or olive oil, fish, etc. Prenatal vitamin is not recommended without doctor's prescription. Have a nice day!
