Well, I am catching up on old myLot discussions, as now sorry to hear your new boss is such a jerk. I hope by now things have improved. I had a boss like that once and she finally got fired, but by then I had found a better job and decided to move on anyway. Bosses like that end up costing the company a lot in the long run!

No, I don't throw a lot of parties, and if I do then it is not for a special occasion, necessarily. Usually I celebrate birthdays with just a few people, sometimes just "us two."

Uhhh...because they are guys? They think differently than we do. However, it is less awful for you to tell him, nicely, but TELL him to lay off than if you wait around for him to get the drift, which he is not likely to do on his own. You should not feel bad unless he keeps chasing after you even after you have clearly told him...or if he stalks you or something. Then you should be MAD, not sad...

I am quite the opposite of you. I seek out adventures beyond my comfort zone. I would be more disappointed knowing I did not take a chance than I would from getting hurt by having made the wrong decision. One way is not right and the other wrong, it is just that people are different.

I go right after Christmas when the stores are starting to clear out their merchandise for upcoming inventory. I drive 5 hours to my favorite store, but that is OK as it is near my vacation home where I love to spend the winter holidays. That depends entirely on your circumstances. If you can afford to save some money and still spend some having fun it is good to create experiences with your friends that you will treasure in your memory later on. Welcome to myLot pramod123, and I remember that feeling well, but hurray, now I have been retired for several years and am just loving every single day. I play golf and shuffleboard and bowl and sleep in and eat whenever I want. Mostly, nobody tells me what to do. It is glorious.

Probably the reason I think it would be fun is that I don't eat at fast food restaurants very often! So it would be something different. In truth, though, people I know usually take me someplace slightly fancy for my birthday. But I am OK with either. Are you having a birthday soon?
