" Schumer Asserts Iran War Would Destroy G.O.P. " " Mr. Schumer, the chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, said about a scenario in which the Bush administration launches a military attack on Iran before leaving office. “I don’t think they are likely to do it, because they are so weak—not because they are chastened—but I also think it is very likely to be a negative political for them.” " Given Charlie Schumer's high position in the USA, his remarks could be taken seriously by Muslims as an indicator of the intentions of the USA. Read more about the remarks here. http://www.observer.com/2007/schumer-asserts-iran-war-would-destroy-g-o-p So, do you think Charles Shumer is a traitor, a disinformation specialist intentionally misleading the Muslims as to the true intentions of the USA, stating something he sincerely believes that would mislead Muslims if they believe it, or a very wise man? Other possiblities? What do you think?

I think Schumer is telling it like it is! I sure hope he's right that it's unlikely Bush would attack Iran before leaving office because we certainly can't afford another war in more ways than one! Why is it there are always "ulterior motives" when it's something a Democrat says or does but when a Republican speaks st's supposed to be taken at face value? Do we really need to make ALL Muslims hate us, if they don't already? Annie

I'll admit I haven't personally studied the Muslim religion but I've heard different versions of their faith. Is it really true that all Muslims consider non-Muslims enemies automatically? If this is true it is certainly tragic but I doubt that all Muslims feel that way. I'm simply in favor of trying to reach out to the people - not the "evil" government leaders - to try to come to some kind of understanding rather than solve everything my war!

"Is it really true that all Muslims consider non-Muslims enemies automatically?" No, not necessarily enemies. Certainly not all Muslims consider infidels to be enemies. A significant percentage do. All who follow the Koran certainly consider non Muslims to be lesser as human beings who won't go to paradise and need to be converted. The high standards of conduct Muslims have for treating each other do not all apply to us infidels.

Thanks so much for the BR! It's interesting to learn more about the Muslim religion, as I said I don't know all that much about them. I can't understand religious faiths that don't teach tolerance but obviously they all don't. Annie
