Does your dog love snow?

Back when I was a little kid, we had a very small German shepherd mix breed dog. And, he did not like snow. Maybe it was too cold for him. Most times he would crawl under the house to avoid the snow and cold weather. And, I just assumed that all dogs hated snow, until last year when I saw a dog rolling in snow. Maybe other dogs love snow. Not sure. I've only ever had one dog. Does your dog love snow?

My miniature schnauzer loves the snow. He rolls in it and has so much fun. He also loves to play in piles of leaves. It's so adorable. He hates rain though. It freaks him out.

Dog ears are very sensitive and they have such good hearing, so I am not surprised that he is afraid of the rain. Perhaps the thunder scares him. Or, maybe he doesn't want to get wet. Either way, he sounds adorable. Makes me miss my dog! He's been gone for years, but it's like he never left.

We used to have a boxer and she hated snow. She had to be dragged outside to go for walks and when we got home she would drag you back inside. She had short fur so maybe that was why. This will be our mixed breed puppy's first winter so I'm not sure how she will like it. She isn't a big fan of rain, but snow might be different.

I don't have a dog, but I have never seen a dog play in the snow. Most of the dogs I see don't like cold weather and love to stay in warm places when it snows. That dog is a special one, hehe.

My dog is really weird! When he was younger, he was very prissy about getting his feet wet, and kind of pranced in the grass. But one day the ground got covered with ice in a storm (at least 3 inches thick everywhere!) and he had so much fun playing on the ice! We were throwing his ball and he would slide all over the place to chase after it. I watched him try to lick the ice several times and I could only imagine his tongue getting stuck!! lol :-P He's better now and doesnt mind the wet ground as much, but we don't get much snow for him to play in...

My dog hates anything that can get her wet, including snow. When it is snowing or raining, when she has to go outside to do her business she does is faster than she normally would. When the yard is full of snow she will cry, unless you shovel a small path and patch for her to do her business. She is also a very picky dog. And if you dont shovel that patha and patch for her, she gets very cranky and will let you know how she feels. I just have a very stubborn and picky dog. But the dog we had before her, loved to play in the snow, he would jump up at the snowflakes and try and catch them I guess. It has been a while. I wish my dog now would be more at ease with the snow. LOL

We had a dog who loved to play in the snow. He was a pomeranian mix. He would stick his nose under the surface of the snow and run through it, using his head like a snow plow! It was so funny to watch! The dogs I have now don't seem particularly fond of it. Two of them absolutely hate the rain and refuse to go outside when it is raining, even if it is just a drizzle. The third one doesn't seem to mind a light rain.

I have 2 wolfdogs ( see my profile pics ). Their built for cold weather & snow. They love it. Their coats are perfect insulation & shed water. Their capilaries are also deeper under the skin to prevent them form losing heat.
