My first track I ever bought was Stevie Wonder "I Just Called To Say I Love You" on 7" Vinyl bought from Woolworths for about £1.99 I think. My 2nd was "White Wedding" by Billy Idol! Must of got tired of the smooching & started rebelling! So,What was your 1st tune you ever purchased & what format was it on? Would be interesting to find out..

My very first purchase was a 7" vinyl of Elton Johns Crocodile rock can't remember the price but it was also from Woolworths as only place in town at the time that sold records. A major Billy Idol fan going back to Generation X and Rebel Yell is my favorite Ellie :)

the first record i actually bought with my own money was Public Enemy's "Apocalypse 91" i was in sophomore high school back then. I became oriented with hip hop culture at that early age. now i bump mostly british rock and independent hip hop.

Cool one of my first ever CD albums I bought was 'Fear Of A Black Planet' by Public Enemy, I think every track on the album has been sampled by some DJ or producer! I hear that Public Enemy are the most sampled band ever - makes sense as most of my old skool hardcore collection has tons of PE samples on it!

LOL There weren't any choices when I was young as to what format it was on vinyl vinyl or vinyl ! But I do remember that the first single I ever bought and paid for with my own hard earned money was Sparks " This town ain't big enough for the both of us"
