overhere started a new discussion called What do you get an 11 year old boy for their birthday? in life.
apart from a 10 year old girl lol We have an 11 year old grandson who we have very little contact with but want to send a birthday present. Can anyone here with boys a similar age please give me some help with ideas as to what the "cool" for boys toys are at the moment. I am looking to spend about $25 and it will have to be mailed. I hate giving gift vouchers so would like a real gift idea HELP!

LOL there is something truly worse than not being able to find the chocolate others in the world are eating! Thats when a chocolate manufacturer lets another use it's name and make its brands under licence. Cadburys in America is made under licence by Hershey and it bears no resemblance in taste to to "real" Casburys chocolate. As a Brit living in America there are quite a few things I can't ge...

I am a pretty good secret keeper often to peoples surprise as I am a really chatty gossipy person - therefore the assumption that I couldn't keep a secret. But when it's important to the teller that I keep "mum" my lips are sealed. Haha talking of mum reminds me that as a young child my older sister (a rebellious teen) would tell me secrets about what she got up to and try as she might our moth...

There is something so unnatural and wrong about having to bury and mourn one's own child at any age. Too lose someone so suddenly and unexpectedly at age when they are about to start their own lives is doubly tragic. My heart goes out to this family and I suspect it wiil take some time to recover from such an unexpected loss.

I have a pretty good memory for useless info like where I put stuff but my hubby is appalling. Not only has he got a terrible memory but he is the worlds most untidy person! I am a "place for everything everything in it's place" kinda person he is a drop it there man. Needless to say many many things are lost for months on end. Why is it that you only ever find something JUST after you have gi...

overhere commented in a discussion called Do doctors go to far? in life.

YOur points are all so valid. It is odd to me that money should ever be a consideration and scary to think that unless doctors here in the USA use the equipment and order tests then they dont get paid - hardly a disincentive to do as much as possible to the patient. It so often feels that money rather than symptoms drive the course of treatment here. As for patient choices unless made ahead of ...

I absolutely agree with you 100% As with so many things in life just because you can doesn't mean you should.

overhere commented on a news article called McCain receiving Social Security benefits in presidential election news.

I hate to say it but there seems to me to be something intinsically wrong with a system that allows someone to be boht working full time and drawing social security benefits as well. I'm also curious how he manages it as many where I work cut their hours so as not to affect their SS benefits. I would hardly think a Senators salary is comparable with a cashiers so how does he manage to get both?

just curious as to why you say Obama is telling more lies than McCains side? Seems to me there are equal amounts of slandering and distortion going on on both sides of the aisle.
