My cat has stinky butt!

I don't know what is going on with her. She is 8 weeks old, and her bottom is stinky! I have tried to wipe her with a warm wet washcloth to simulate her mommy cleaning her, I have taken warm baby wipes, I even gave her a bath. Nothing helps! Is there something I don't know about? I am not a cat fancier and never owned a cat before! My kitten will be going to the vet on the 15th but I would like to have some relief from her stinky bottom until then lol! Any ideas?

Most likely it is the youth of the kitten. As she gets older her body will change and so will the odor. Just like with human babies. But for now, you might get some relief by changing the type of food you are feeding her. Take a whiff of it yourself to see if the food has an offensive odor to you. If it does, try a different brand or mix it with something that is not offensive and give that a try. But remember, even when they are full adults, cats have a particularly strong ammonia odor to their urine. I don't know of any cure for that one.

Thanks for the information. I will see about changing her cat food. I know about the ammonia odor in the urine. She is very good at using her litter box and I change her litter box frequently to keep that smell from overpowering the house. Thanks for the information!

Well i never heard this before a cat with a stinky butt. But you have to commit this is hilarious to read. Just like the other one said could because it's still a kitten and they will change and the smell will disappear.I do have a cat with bad breath when she opened her mouth i thought it was something deadly i smelled. yuck

LOL, I can imagine what a stinky cat breath must smell like. My friends little dog has a breath issue. If it weren't so impolite I would literally dry heave from the dog trying to lick me on the face....blech! I will definitely keep you updated on my smelly cat!
