In addition to vinyl (PVC) plastic with phthalates, tests showed brominated compounds in half the samples. link to greenpeace video: http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/press-center/releases2/hazardous-materials-found-in-a

Apple isn't really all that green. Apple's raised consciousness in the design realm doesn't translate to the environmental realm. It is interesting to note that there's no real correlation between the price of a PC and the company's dedication to greenness and recycling. Apple and Motorola are typically premium-priced products, but, that money isn't going to the greener good.

Nah, they were just after the money...most companies and corporations are like that these days, unfortunately. It costs companies less to buy the cheaper, LESS green parts...and with all the hype surrounding the iPhone..they stood to profit more than they spent. It all boils down to money. 9 times outta 10, if there's a problem and somebody was behind it, all you gotta ask yourself to know for sure is; "Does someone stand to gain from this?" And if the answer's yes, then most likely someone did it on purpose.
