No, you are certainly not childish because you love fireworks - I too think they are wonderful, and mesmerizing. The best firework display I have ever seen was last New Year's Eve on Sydney Harbour Bridge here in Australia - you may have seen some of it on TV. It was absolutely amazing, and breathtakingly beautiful. The colours from the fireworks are beautiful, lighting the sky up the way they do; I could have watched them all night.

No worries, we all lead such busy lives! You should come to Australia to see the fireworks for yourself!

I used to enjoy fireworks when I was a kid in the States. They were run by the town and not by the public. Here in Scotland it seems anyone can blast them off. Guy Fawkes day is not until tomorrow, but these idiots have been blasting them off for the last 3 weeks. Enough already. I say ban them from public use, only allow the county to have displays. Our pooch is terrified by the noise. I can only imagne what the poor livestock think of all this noise. I wonder if someone can invent noiseless ones! There is nothing worse than taking your dog out for his evening walk only to have an explosion overhead. You almost get your arm pulled out of its socket when he runs frantically home dragging you behind him. It seems some people don't think of others, not only the animals, but also of the elderly. I agree with you that they are beautiful, but they are also very dangerous. Kids can buy these things and they tend to get hurt because they don't know what they are doing.

The best fireworks display I've seen was during the launching of the Christmas celebration in General Santos. It was sponsored by the city hall. It was very nice. Before the display, our mayor has reported that we have a PhP 100 million surplus for the year's budget. It could be that the 100M went to the fireworks, just kidding.

When I was a kid I liked fireworks. I think they're kind of boring. We really only have fireworks on the 4th of July around here. But anyhow, yeah i don't think it's childish to like fireworks.

I like fireworks when I see one, but I don't much spend time and effort to go out of my way just to watch them. I frequent the Mall of Asia, and every weekend,( I think they started last October), Saturday and Sunday, at 7pm they have a 10 minute fireworks display. I was able to witness the grand champion (Australia) fireworks, when there was fireworks competetion last year in the Mall of Asia. The fireworks lasted for more than 40 minuts It was astonishing as they are able to produce different images as the fireworks exploded, they say it was done with computers, hi-tech!

No definitely you're not the only one, in fact almost everyone loves fireworks. Watching fireworks gives a wonderful magical feeling to us that is why we love it. I've watched once only during new year's eve, I understand it's quite costly so they don't do it often here.

....I have mixed emotions whenever I experienced watching fireworks displays, feel happy and a little bit sentimental at the same time. LOL! I know it's a good sight to be enjoyed and you will truly adore the wonderful creation of colors in the sky.. :)

Fire works at Epcot - These are some pictures I took at Epcot, they are not as good as the fireworks, my camera suffers from very bad shutterlag.
I love fireworks, but I like a good display. Some of the ones I have seen -- using the word mediocre to describe them would be kind - I don't bother with those. This pic I took a few weeks ago down at Epcot in Orlando

Oh please, you never outgrow fireworks. I just love a good fireworks show. But, in my neighborhood they only have one on independence day. The best one is the one that they have at Santa Monica College, across the street from me. It is kind of two loud though. You hear this BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, I mean it sounds like a war zone with cannons going off. But, it is very, very nice. We usually just stand out on the porch and watch the show.

I like fireworks pretty much. I played with that when I was young. Nowadays whenever there are the big festivals, like National Day or Spring Festival, then we can see many big and nice fireworks. The flames are colorful and they're always in very nice shapes. It feels very nice to watch:)

Every year around the 4th of July, the next town over holds a big festival and has a public fireworks display. It lasts about 15 minutes. It's so loud, that even though I live about 15 miles away, i can still hear it if it's calm outside. But the lights and colors are so pretty when I see them fire off in the sky. It also costs over $35,000 for a 15 minute professional fireworks display. Did you know that?
