Gissi is so funny when he re-arranges his cushions and pillows! He is a very individual little fellow, for sure, but he makes you laugh Gabs, and that's the main thing, and is so good for you. I hate to think how you'd be if he wasn't there, he is your constant and faithful companion, a real little treasure (in spite of his bad days when he drives you crazy!) lol![em]whistle[/em] |
 | abbey19 responded to a discussion called Homemade gravy, jarred, or canned? in cooking. 1 week ago
I have always made my own gravy (taught to me by my mother), and I would NEVER use anything shop bought - it just doesn't have the taste of home-made.
I always save the stock from any meat I cook, and freeze it for later use (this is the basis of a really tasty gravy). Any fat from the juices solidifies and sets on top of the stock and I always remove most of this before I use the stock undern... |

Awww - he looks cute! What kind of lizard is he? Living in Australia, we get lots of lizards here, some small - and some huge! Some of the smaller ones come inside our homes and eat any mosquitos, etc., so I don't mind them at all. In fact, we have a resident gecko which lives behind the air conditioner - we call him Chuchchuck because of the noise he makes! He is about 6 inches long.

 | abbey19 responded to a discussion called What Do You Usually Have For Breakfast .....? in health. 5 days ago
I hardly ever miss breakfast. I consider it important to begin the day with some food in your stomach, as it starts the metabolism working right away, and that is a good thing - especially if you are on a diet.
My breakfasts vary - I have eggs three to four times a week either poached, scrambled or boiled, with toast and coffee.
On Sunday morning we always have a full cooked breakfast consis... |

[em]sad[/em]I know exactly how you feel about being homesick.
I am from the UK, but emigrated to Australia twenty years ago, and as much as I love it here, I often get homesick for the UK. Yes, Australia has great weather (sometimes too hot though), wonderful clean, sandy beaches - and the most unique flora and fauna in the world, but in spite of it all, my heart often yearns for the UK.

I think eloouuu's comment says it all, because that's exactly how I look at MyLot too. She certainly deserves a BR from you!
I don't start many of my own discussions these days because of other commitments, but I try to reply to most of my friends' discussions, as and when I can. That keeps me quite busy - and yes, I do enjoy reading my friends' discussions.
I believe in quality, not quantity. |
 | abbey19 responded to a discussion called Which do you prefer Home & Away, Neighbours or both? in tv. 4 days ago
Habit is the word! I have watched these two shows since they started and although I like both of them, if I had to choose, it would be Home & Away. It seems to have better story lines than Neighbours, and hold my interest longer. |

Nice one mysdianait - I love it!
I was intrigued by your title, as a lot of others here must have been, then when I saw how many responses you have had already, I was flabbergasted! You have shaken up our MyLot world - what a great discussion. Many thanks for you ingenuity! |

| 3 months ago Hi Barb. I'm back here. I'm still at yuwie, but won't be spending much time there. I'll stay there as long as my friends are there, but I think it is collapsing very quickly. The notice board is full of complaints. I prefer yuwie, but it just isn't working. | | libby2009 (1535)
