abbey19 responded to a discussion called Gissi and his Cushion in my gissi.
Gissi is so funny when he re-arranges his cushions and pillows! He is a very individual little fellow, for sure, but he makes you laugh Gabs, and that's the main thing, and is so good for you. I hate to think how you'd be if he wasn't there, he is your constant and faithful companion, a real little treasure (in spite of his bad days when he drives you crazy!) lol![em]whistle[/em]

abbey19 responded to a discussion called Homemade gravy, jarred, or canned? in cooking.
I have always made my own gravy (taught to me by my mother), and I would NEVER use anything shop bought - it just doesn't have the taste of home-made. I always save the stock from any meat I cook, and freeze it for later use (this is the basis of a really tasty gravy). Any fat from the juices solidifies and sets on top of the stock and I always remove most of this before I use the stock undern...

Awww - he looks cute! What kind of lizard is he? Living in Australia, we get lots of lizards here, some small - and some huge! Some of the smaller ones come inside our homes and eat any mosquitos, etc., so I don't mind them at all. In fact, we have a resident gecko which lives behind the air conditioner - we call him Chuchchuck because of the noise he makes! He is about 6 inches long. We also ...

abbey19 responded to a discussion called What Do You Usually Have For Breakfast .....? in health.
I hardly ever miss breakfast. I consider it important to begin the day with some food in your stomach, as it starts the metabolism working right away, and that is a good thing - especially if you are on a diet. My breakfasts vary - I have eggs three to four times a week either poached, scrambled or boiled, with toast and coffee. On Sunday morning we always have a full cooked breakfast consis...

[em]sad[/em]I know exactly how you feel about being homesick. I am from the UK, but emigrated to Australia twenty years ago, and as much as I love it here, I often get homesick for the UK. Yes, Australia has great weather (sometimes too hot though), wonderful clean, sandy beaches - and the most unique flora and fauna in the world, but in spite of it all, my heart often yearns for the UK. Ho...

abbey19 responded to a discussion called In myLot is it Better to Read or to Write? in reading.
I think eloouuu's comment says it all, because that's exactly how I look at MyLot too. She certainly deserves a BR from you! I don't start many of my own discussions these days because of other commitments, but I try to reply to most of my friends' discussions, as and when I can. That keeps me quite busy - and yes, I do enjoy reading my friends' discussions. I believe in quality, not quantity.

abbey19 responded to a discussion called Which do you prefer Home & Away, Neighbours or both? in tv.
Habit is the word! I have watched these two shows since they started and although I like both of them, if I had to choose, it would be Home & Away. It seems to have better story lines than Neighbours, and hold my interest longer.

Nice one mysdianait - I love it! I was intrigued by your title, as a lot of others here must have been, then when I saw how many responses you have had already, I was flabbergasted! You have shaken up our MyLot world - what a great discussion. Many thanks for you ingenuity!

I am Scottish by birth (and proud of it), but have lived for many years in Australia, so this is home! My goal is to visit family and friends both in the UK and USA - real soon, and am trying to make some money on the internet to pay for my fare!

Sureslim Diet

Success at last! I have lost 20lbs recently on the Sureslim diet. It's a low carb, low fat diet, but I have honestly found it quite an easy diet to follow, and the results speak for themselves. I can...

Can Dogs Suffer from Alzheimer's?

One of my dogs (Penny who is 12) is showing classic symptoms of Alzheimers. I wasn't sure if dogs can suffer from this disease, so I looked it up on the net, and want to share my findings with all of...

I am heartbroken

A month ago I posted a discussion about my dog Penny who was sick; sadly, I lost her 2 weeks ago. Her liver was failing, and she progressively got sicker and sicker; our vet could do nothing for her,...

Hi Barb. I'm back here. I'm still at yuwie, but won't be spending much time there. I'll stay there as long as my friends are there, but I think it is collapsing very quickly. The notice board is full of complaints. I prefer yuwie, but it just isn't working.
