imagine a 17 year old kid living on her own at s starnge country where no one knows her better that her teddy bear. i miss Philippines... im now living on a chinese family which represents as my homestay parent. i've got new Filipino here, i met them at church, at school and some other parts of the sydney. i never feel i am alone everytime im outside this four sides of this house. even if its good and safer to live here, i would still feel im home if im on my own country. there is something at the PHILIPPINES where you can never find on any other places of the world .

ohh.. its not that i dont like to be away... and besides i have to this not because of money but because i have to learn something that i will never learn if ill stay forever with my parents.hehe.. :) i want to go home but ofcourse the will to be succesful of achieving this dream is also in my heart. its difficult to be here (even difficult than i expect) and i always wish to come back home. but despite all, i am trying to fight loneliness not for my self, nor for my parents to be proud of me but for my dreams and my sisters dreams. i understand you care for me and i am thankful for it. :)

hey migen, you are still lucky to be living in an english-speaking country.. what if you are in a spanish-speaking country where english is not widely-used and only 2 filipinos so far i've met in my 3 month-stay here.. no embassy, the consulate is not responding to my queries about filipino community here... life is difficult, you would imagine.. but i am living it.. it is my reality here.. it's good that i am doing worthwile here.. like you, im studying and burying myself in books and internet..

i am pursuing my masters in costa rica.. i would like to think that my spanish is somehow improving because i could somehow communicate with my host mom now without much hand and face gestures. hehehehehe.. i am 32.. good thing though is that i am still single. it makes a little difference because if i have kids and wife in the philippines, it will be an excruciating and painstaking stay away from them... this christmas will be spent away from home.. it's going to be my first time.. and i don't know how things will fly here.. huhuhuhuh

hi migenKC! that's really courageous of you to go to a foreign land by yourself at your age! that's good you're studying while working, try to finish your studies and always aim for higher education. christmas is approaching, that time of the year again when we long so much for home, sigh. my son is your age, still in Pinas, and he'd be joining us here once he finished his associate degree in 2009. we all can't wait! :) hang in there girl, go have your dreams come true!

hi migenkc^_^ im a filipina too.. when i started to live singapore as i worked with designers.. there were times where i just stare blank and nothing in my eyes... yes, i was so touched when you said that there is something in our country that is not found anywhere else in the world.. but we have to live with this reality... if we stay in on place.. how can we grow? if we are not ready for a change, how can we learn?... we have to face the rigors of travel, the wonders of life.. The world is huge, and every place offers a good opportunity.. But we can never deny, the life we live once in philippines.. theres no place like home.. when im lonely.. i just look at the bright side, i go around where i see my fellow kababayans... or go to malls to forget the lonesome.. when im alone in my room, i just look at my sisters pictures, and smile, because of the sacrifice i make, i can help them... i can make our dreams come true. dont worry, there is more to life. more to do... so little time.. but what is worth for s, will always be in place..^_^cheer up now... your such a pretty girl to feel the lonesome..^_^ at least im here to listen.. take care now, you can do it^_^

GOD BLESS YOU

Good thing is im with my cousin here and we see each other once a week. There are lots of filipinos here but ill tell you most of them are snob. especially the ones with high paying job.

okay...i must admit that...there are some who are puffed up with pride...i mean, they thought that since they are on the 'land of gold' they think that they are gold... i've seen and met some filipinos here who are like that...so i just ignore them...there are even some filipinos who cursed their own country... but as for me, i still love my country...and i love being a filipino...and no matter what, no matter how financially unstable our country is, i will still go back there...home is where my heart is...and philippines will always be my home...
• Australia

really?...maybe they are just shy... anyway, i really missed the filipino foods...not just the lechon...dried mangoes, green mangoes with bagoong, barbecue--adidas!..lol...and many more...almost all...

i'm a filipina too...like you, i am in australia...but i'm in queensland.. i do miss our country...i'm with my sister so somehow, my homesickness is not that worse...i do feel what you feel right now...i really, really miss my family back home...we miss our little sister too... i miss the filipino foods, and the people out there...i mean, philippines is totally different...we must admit that financially, philippines in not on the best status but when it comes the being "bibo", the pinoys are number 1... so, you're in TAFE?...we are in TAFE too..we enjoyed the multi-cultural sorrounding there..but still, we want to go home... when are you planning to go back home?

im not in tafe but on kent, a private school but still approved by tafe. hay. atleast your with you sister. ill be having my 18th bday here alone (not actually alone but with my filipino friends here who are much older than me.) "BIBO!" thats what australia doesnt have but its not only the happiness im missing to our country but the way we live and the way we deal with life. it is very diffirent from what it is here. or maybe im on cultural shock just like what my friend way back to Philippines explains to me. i dont know when ill be comming home. maybe 2 or 3 years from now? or until this lonliness gets worse. hehe.. :) thank you for your response. hope to see you around. one hour plane lang diba ang queensland? my mom had been there the last time po kasi. :) mabuhay ang Pilipino saan man sa mundo.

ahh..okay..i am with my sister but were very sad...we are in a nice country but were with "not-so-good" people...i mean, it is totally difficult to live with a relative whom you thought were like family...that saddens us the more... it makes us miss our country a lot...because back home, everyone is just happy...ummm...should i say happy-go-lucky?...is that the right word?...well, anyway, i just love our homecountry and our countrymen...there is no place like home... so you have to wait for that long?...as for me and my sister, we are planning to visit philippines next year...if our budget so allows...we want to eat a lot of filipino food...the lechon baboy!...i missed it... kita-kits...saan ka uli sa australia?...we might probably go somewhere else in australia...

I know how you feel migen, being far away from home can be a nightmare, but and glad you have some nice Chinese friends-chinese are very good people, they are kind hearted, and am sure the friends you got will stand in for your parents for a while, but whatever you are doing, do remember to go back to the Philipines some day.

hehe.. yeah they could be.. but a stranger who suddenly become a friend is different. you see, sometimes your bestfriend can be your worse enemy. how much more to a person whom you even dont know or vise versa. i dont want to be negative but im now experiencing bad things here. they say they care about you when infact they will soon condemn you. hay.. atleast i've got here my churchmates who are trully guiding me and keep on reminding me that God is always there to protect His children. thank you for you respose academic2. :) have a nice day and God bless us always

I always think how brave young people are to leave their country, leave their families to go to another country, I really think it is brave, I know I couldn't have done it when i was young I was just too insecure, but if it is good for you , your future then maybe it will be worthwhile, I hope so and i hope one day you will know what a great thing you have done for yourself, good luck for the future my friend.

Its a nice thing to hear from a fellow Filipino that still feels Filipino even they are now away from their country. I see many Filipinos who forget their citizenship and love for their country when they are given the opportunity to lived outside the country. But in your case you seek to be identified as Filipino and I am happy to see you like that and hopefully you stay like that. You are lucky indeed you are given the privilege to be there.

Hi migenKC! I hope that you will soon have the opportunity to go visit your roots here in the Philippines. As they say, there's no place like home. But pinoys, wherever you put them in the world will survive and excel. So keep on surviving and excelling wherever you are, whatever you do. Mabuhay ka!
