My cat likes beans and salsa

she also craves canned hash. I can really understand the hash better than the Mexican food. When I first tried hash, as an over 40 adult, I was reminded of dog food. I have no idea where she learned to like beans and salsa, though. When we found her she could not have been any older than twelve weeks old, kind of young to have developed that taste I would think. Do your cats eat anything strange?

How extraordinary!! I know plenty of dogs that will eat weird things, but for a cat this is most unusual. Are the beans ordinary baked beans? If yes, I can see that this may appeal to a few cats. But salsa!! That is strange. Is hash mashed potato? Most cats I have ever owned are fairly fussy. Although my fluffy torty will eat the tinned dog food, which I don't encourage. Our black & white lives in my daughters bedroom 23 out of 24 hours a day, & it transpires that she nibbles at quite a bit of my daughters food... grapes, biscuits, chips, etc.

The beans are refried beans. That is a cooked pinto bean that has the liquid evaporated, then is mashed, sometimes with lard, and reheated (refries) Mexican dishes. Hash is ground meat, usually beef or corned beef with cubed potatoes, very small. Some people use mashed potatoes, my hubby says. I get ours in a can.

I am beginning to think that the weird food habits of these animals is due to the fact that WE ARE BOTH REFERRING TO FEMALE CATS. What do you think? Possible? I'm waiting for mine to really freak me out with whatever she decides she is going to eat, or do, next. She already sleeps in the shower. I wonder what she is going to do next.

Banjo was enjoying the honey soy garlic marinade I used on my chicken drumsticks last evening. He will pretty well sample anything ...I sometimes wonder if his sense of smell is broken because I expect him to sniff first and walk away but he doesn't....he goes straight in for a taste.
