is it true that muhammad married to a 9 y/o girl as his ninth wife ? does that count into pedophile or something ? (correct me if i am wrong) and is it true that he died when he is making love with his last wife ? all of the information that i recieved from my friends are shocking, thus i need some confirmation by moslem peoples here ... and if all of that above is true, then how can you justify it ? o_O? (it's a question, no offense intention on it)

The consensus of accedemic opinion, as I understand it, is that he married a girl of 7 and consumated the marriage when she was 9. In one of the Hadiths she recounts being a child playing on a swing when Muhammad came and took her to consumate the marriage. Hadiths by her relitives add support to this account. all the best urban

Well, tghere are many that hold that morality is rfeletive to the culture and that what Muhammed did here was nothing unusual for the time. However, you may question if or the degree to which such ethical reletivism is compatable with religeous absolutism. all the bestg urban

By religeous absolutism I absolutism about ethical matters; if you believe that God says it is wrong to do such and such an act then you may consider that it is wrong to do such and such act regardless of what culture you are from. Ethical relitivism springs from the isguided idea that because all people are equal then all cultures must be equal but this is absurd since it is clearly false to say that the culture of Nazi Germany is equal to that of many places, therefore cultural relitavism is wrong and if cultural reletivism is wrong so is ethical relitivism. What exactly do you mean when you say religeon is transcendant? all the best urban

where in the world do you get your info? sounds like your source is the current media! As a practising muslim it saddens me to see the level people go to to distort truth. Why so much fear? Is it fear that you might actually agree and like what you hear and see? In a way muslims also need to get off their butts and educate and inform people of what Islam really is, especially post 911.Anyway, to answer your questions, no and no.If you are an intelligent human being, which i am sure you are(there is obviously some doubt in your mind about these issues, therefore the questions)i suggest you re-evaluate who your "friends" are and educate yourself. Do not believe everything you hear and see, check it out for yourself. Can i suggest reading a translation of the Quran. What harm can it do you but inform and educate, or do you also fear?

i get that info from my friends, that's why i need to clarify that ... from your answer, you're saying no to all of my question, do you have any clear explanation on that ? to read the whole Quran are too consuming my time, can you put only the important line from Quran that justify your respond here please ? o_O? otherwise, it's still blurry for me

But Drawmoney, that Muslims deify all the prophets, holdeing them to be all not fallible men but perfect makes them on a level with God and Islam polytheistic. Another differance between Islam and the monotheistic faiths of Judaism and Christianity. all the best urban

In Aisha's own words she was a child playing on a swing when Muhammad consumated the marriage! That her family agreed does nothing to lessen the fact. Muslims claim that some phoney Jesus was substituted for the crucifixion is a far worse offence. Since it makes Jesus appear to be a deceiver and a fake. all the best urban

I do not know much about this question... I am not an expert but ... He is your prophet too..! You are christian ? Read this... http://tinyurl.com/3afbka You are hindu ? http://tinyurl.com/3x84pk Or you are Buddhist ? http://tinyurl.com/3573h2 If u do not know something.. Still you have to respect others felling about it... He is not my prophet or he is not Muslim's Prophet... He is the prophet send to all the Humankind.... If u say he is not than you are saying that the scriptures of religion are wrong... Regarding the question... I really do not know what was the fact behind it... But still i can say that there is no problem in that relation.. Aisha was happy with him and there is not a single statement in the hadith that say she is abused.. If it is than they must have included it... Friend refer to Quran and follow the Path of his prophets... Why do not people take examples of NABI ye karim (sal Allah-o-alehe Wasallam) God says that he is the Best example on how to practice Islam... I do not say that u should not follow Muhammed (pbuh)... U should and must follow the prophet.. Hope you will get the answer regarding the question...

How come u say that we should judge Prohphet on the miracles... Okay still if i belive this on the sake of argument than... The greatest miracle bestowed upon him was the revelation of the Qur'an Unlike the miracles of other prophets before him, the miracle of the Qur'an is eternal Muhammad (pbuh) was a uneducated person...the age was also above 40 (approx) How come he can MAKE A BOOK LIKE Quran ? (i believe it is miracle) How come Mary gave birth to Jesus (pbuh) ? (i believe it is miracle) More over i will less believe it miracle because God can perform this task very easily and this are the warnings for the human being... He(Allah) can give risalat(knowledge) to any one he likes.(like he gaved to SALLALLAHU ALEYHI VE SELLEM Check this links for Great references.. http://members.tripod.com/maseeh1/advices7/id154.htm http://www.risale-inur.com.tr/rnk/eng/letters/19letter.html There are many links but i think that this is enough links...

No, he doesn't really fit the criteria of prophet; he isn't predicted in previous scripture and performs no miracles all the best urban

I think far too many people try to compare modern laws and social behavior to things that happened thousands of years ago. Thousands of years ago people didn't live to 120. Incest was not only acceptable, it was encouraged in nobility and families with money. Marrying someone who wasn't a member of your family meant you had to share the family fortune, a big no no. Way back then women largely didn't have rights. Many faiths and cultures considered women property and sold them to whatever man was willing to give them livestock. Even as recently as the Renaissance people were getting married at the age of 13 and 14. You just need to accept that it was a different time with different rules.
