Long Beep

When i power on my PC, it throws a long beep. What would be the problem. It will be helpful if any responses for the same.

well my friend generally there are three kinds of beep. one all of them are different in sound and they mean different things. if you have a beep like ambulance then it may be that your bios chip has problem and you need to get that replaced or your mother board needs to be replaced. the small problems are eigther your ram card is loose or your AGP card is loose. these are the main problems when you get beeps when the comp start.

Check the mainboard user's guide...It should tell you what the long beep means.. If you don't have the user's guide, check the mainboard brand and model number and download it from the manufacturer's website..

If you are getting a long beep,i think the problem is mainly with your memory.Sometimes because of power supply problem PC generates long beep.

If you just installed new memory (RAM) check to see that you put them in correctly in their slots, you can also take them out and re-insert them to be sure. Could also be bad memory, you could try to do a memtest to see about that.
