My boss just told me that the suppose to be project of developing a residential subdivision will no longer push through...and this means that i will be jobless next month... which is December... I have only been working her for 4 months and i declined other job offers because i thought the job that i have now has a great potential... and the hours that they gave me is great... meaning i can choose the time when i want to go to work and when i need to leave...i have unlimited internet access and my own company cell phone... This job is like the dream job for me... but then it was too good to be true and now i will be without work... and the christmas is just around... Oh my... i really can't believe that this is happening....

So very sorry to hear this. Somewhere, however, I don't know when, but maybe when we most need it, some good comes out of every bad thing that happens, so hang in there and better things will come. My warmest best wishes for your success in somehow turning this situation around.

Hello aseretdd, I am sorry to hear that you are going to lose your job. It sounds like a good job to me with unlimited access to internet, flexible hours and so on but if that's the case, I don't think you have any options to choose. Maybe you should sit and discuss with your boss whether you can be transfered to another department? Or maybe, the best way is start to find another job. I lost my dream job during an economic downturn in 1997. I was thinking that will be a good job for me and hoped to go further with the company but unfortunately as I was the newest member, sooner or later the company is going to retrench the staff. Due to that, I tendered my resignation as I found it hard to accept being retrenched.

Losing a dream job and a one that you really love is a tough experience... but there is nothing i can do about it but face the fact and move on with my life...just like what you did... you moved on and now i think you are happier with your life...

Hello aseretdd, Yes, you are right! Life must goes on no matter what happened in our life. I am happier now compare to the past few years. Even though this is not the job I dreamed for, at least I still have a job and earn a living. I have been almost 10 years with the company and I do find sometimes that the work is a bit monotonous and boring for me. But as you said, life must go on. I have other things that make my life happier! Good luck to you!

It is really very sorry to hear this. But is there only this project that is company is running on? Ask your manager about it whether you can be assigned any other project. Also were there not any terms and condition when you joined this company? Can they sack you like this? If nothing work try out hard for any job now. Best of luck.

Yes, this is the only project that they are working on... and i thought that is was a good to go project because the person who hired me was so optimistic... and she promised that i will grow with the company... My biggest mistake is that i did not ask for a contract to sign since i was thinking that if i do not like the job... i can easily resign... but i love the job... oh my... thank you for the response...

Dear aseretdd, I really feel for you. That is a very untimely notice, only four months and the job is over? Have you tried to talk to your boss about any optional vacancy in the same organisation? This is a festive season and you really need to have a salary. I pray that your boss fixes you somewhere in the organisation or you get a new job soonest. Am sorry for that.

Well, there is no other vacancy because this organization is just starting out... and they promised that i will grow with the company... my boss also said that i will be compensated so that i will still have a merry christmas... but that is not exactly the point... a regular job is much better than a compensation of any amount...

Atleast you now will have time to celebrate with family during christmass while applying for other jobs. There is the positive side of this situation and I think its better you take it as it is. Meanwhile keep praying God that after the party is over you get a calling letter from a company on 1.1.2008. Hope for a miracle.

This may sound harsh, but I have to say it. I remember somewhere in the Bible it says, Never trust in uncertain riches. Pray to God for a plan for your future. There is always hope in God.

Hi. You know what? I had lost one job in August. It was a hongkong company. They hired me in May before I graduated, and I started the work in July. But then the company found that their preparation of this project is quite not sufficent. So they ceased the project. Ten people lost their job in a sudden. it was too cruel. I rent a apartment and I have no other income. I bought newspapers and went to all places possible for interview. It is hard to look back. But thank God, another door was opened to me. I found my job now. Although it is not as good paid as the previous one, it is more formal, and I have unlimitted internet access. Be optimistic, you will be luckier and find a better job!
