Wine Tasting Vacation

Wine Gobblets on Display at Biltmore Estates - We enjoyed a Wine Tasting at the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. This was a very exclusive winery with its own displays and a large serving area complete with a gift shop. Some Winerys are operated out of the garage while others are part of a more elaborate setting. It is something that I have come to enjoy and look forward to trying the local flavor

We own couple of Timeshares and we try toexchange them to save on vacations. Most of the time we will select a section of the country (USA) to visit and then see what timeshares are available and then we decide what we will specificlly visit and do. Some of the time we travelwith our children, who are grown, and we will look for interesting things in the area. One of the thing that we have been doing lately is visiting Winerys and enjoying the wine tasting. This is usually followed by purchasing a few bottles to enjoy later. This has some advantages in that you usually have to take the back roads to find the Winerys and you get to see the country side. Also during the wine tasting you get to visit with other people and share their knowledge of the area. The host is also a good source of local dining and attractions. Several times we have been steered away from something when we hear about it from the locals. Most time we learn of excellent local restrauants and colorful places to visit. the other advantage is you get to share the wine with family and friends when you return home. You are able to be reminded of your vacation all year long and you start to anticipate the next vacation.
