Sick of all the Ebay fees

Is anyone else tired of all the Ebay fees? I know I am. I love the concept of Ebay but, if you list alot of items and many of them don't sale you can go broke. I found a web site called Power Sellers Unite. They list some alternative places to sale your wares that have either no fees or very low selling fees without having any listing fees. I was wondering if anyone has used any alternative sites with any success? I know that other auction and selling sites are out there but I wonder how succesful they are. Ebay is almost a monopoly in the area of online auctions because they market so well.

I finally just opened one of their $15 stores and am finding that works best for me because their fees are getting ridiculous. I've also found other auction sites that are either free or only charge you final value fees and they are just as good as far as I'm concerned. Of course they don't have all the "bells and whistles" that ebay does but I'm getting my items sold and that's what counts for me. You might want to check out ioffer.com for starters. Good luck.

It is great to hear someone doing well with alternative sites. What type of items do you sell?

I agree and it has become more like a store than auctioning off your own goods. I remember when EBay first came out it was all about selling things from your garage not selling brand new items that you can easily buy in the store. I have never heard of Power Sellers Unite, but will look into it. We have been using Craig's List lately.

The fees are really horrible, but I guess they can charge those fees because they really don't have any real competition. The rates will only go down when they have a strong competitor.

Having been both a buyer and a seller on eBay I have seen the fees rise over the years, and it is reaching a stage where it is no longer viable to sell a lot on eBay anymore.

I don't like the fees either but you do have a good chance of finding the item you want or to sell the item you have on ebay then any other site I know. If ebay has a worthy competior then they will lower their fees.

I guess that is why my husband jumped ship to Oztion (Australia only) for selling. I do the buying through ebay though. The reason ebay can charge such high fees is because they are the original online auction site. They are the most worldwide one and the most well known. They charge the fees they do 'cos they can! I think that sites like Ebay need to be regulated for what they can charge.

I would say ebay is the most popular site out there for selling or buying anything on the internet. So if you really want to sell your items ebay is the best one to use. The alternative sites your talking about are not known very well and it could take forever to sell something on them. So in the long run I think ebay is your best bet. Just don't put too many items on sale at the same time and it should cut down your costs. Wait to sell a few before adding more. Then use your profits to sell more.

I know what you mean. I have many times, thought about starting a small business through ebay. But then i see, how things seem to sell on Ebay (unless it is a hot selling item at the moment) and then thinking about the fees i decide to put it off. I'm interested as to if anybody has any suggestion as an ebay alternative as well.
