Do You Hate Spiders?

I really, really hate spiders, yuk! My question is why is it that they always appear when you are alone and they are high up on the ceiling seemingly a mile away from you? I am looking at one right this minute and I know that I will never turn off the light until I have gotten rid of the thing. I will probably sit here for a couple of hours waiting for it to move closer to me so that I can try to hit it with my broom. Then I will wonder if I actually got it as I search the floor where it will inevitably fall. I really wish I was anywhere else but here right now.

Yes, I hate spider too! I always see them at the most weirdest time of the night and when I am not expecting to see it either. I usually scream for my husband to come and kill those darn things! I pretty much hate anything that crawls like that.

I see it still up in the corner of the ceiling, jennyp, so, since I am here alone I will have to get it myself. It's the only way I will be able to get any sleep tonight.

I think spiders are cool. I admit they are a bit freaky, but I would never kill one!! If not for them, we'd be overrun with bugs! They are the good guys and very important. I seem to always find them when I'm in the shower. Crawling around the upper edge of the shower, or swinging from shower head. I don't like that, cuz I don't want to take my eyes off him in case he slips (or jumps!!) Take a look at these links to my website!! http://www.cafepress.com/estherspaint.46288565 http://www.cafepress.com/estherspaint.46288557 Here's one you need on your wall: http://www.cafepress.com/estherspaint.46288556

Beautiful nature and clear sky. - This was an early morning visitor while I was visiting my Dad in Tamworth one time.
When I first joined Mylot I responded to a lady who had just moved to live in a forest. There were a lot of spiders and she was extremely concerned. I assumed she was afraid of spiders and encouraged her not to be worried as if left alone they would not be a problem. Several weeks later she posted that her son had been severely bitten during the night by several spiders and had to be taken to hospital. I'm still of the same mind as I don't have a problem with spiders and quite like having them around. They get rid of other bugs you know...that's useful. If he's so far away, I'm sure you'll be ok. Just think of a name for him and talk nicely to him. He can be your new pet.:)

Sorry, but I'm laughing here...Hehhee.. I have no problem at all with spiders, and an old saying my great-grandmother use to say was never kill a spider as it's bad luck. Believe it or not that sticks in my mind. I actually have a number of spiders in my place and never bother with them and I've had an occasion or two when they would crawl on me..I can just picture you screaming -LOL--oh it gets better. I used to have a friend that had a virtual zoo in her house,--cats, dogs, lizards, snakes, turtles, birds, and yes, tarantula spiders. So one day I'm visiting her, and she takes out one of the spiders and ka-plunks it on my arm. I guess she thought I'd freak out, but didn't..actually found him fascinating to watch. Okay..I'm weird, I admit it.

I don't particularly like spiders myself but I am the appointed spider killer in the house. My husband, the combat instructing, MMA fighting, tough guy shrieks like a little girl when he sees a spider. The amusement I get from torturing him far outweighs the fear I have. I know, I am mean.

I don't hate spiders but at the same time I don't like them. I love to squash them into the ground or drown them. I know this sounds cruel but I just hate it when I'm in the dark and I am imagining spiders crawling around everywhere! Anyone else feel this way?

Spiders are not my most favorite visitors. We do have a cat so if there is one moving around on the wall or floor, she will corner it and kill it. I, like you, won't go to sleep or leave the house until I can get it.

I too must kill them. Several weeks ago I had a bad experience with one. I got into my shower, water already running, and there was a very large black one hanging on my shower curtain! I screamed at the top of my lungs (which must have scared my neighbors) and leaped out of the shower, soaking wet. I ran for the broom and killed it. Talk about being paranoid after that. Every time I take a shower now, I have to check the shower curtain and the ceiling, to make sure there isn't one hovering around.

Hey, the poor guy or gal is only trying to make a living, like the rest of us creatures. Give him or her a break, because the chances of it bothering you are about a million in one. Actually. a spider if far more afraid of you than you are of it. I just wish they didn't look so creepy.

I like spiders. In fact they are the only insect that I do like.I will kill any other insect on sight except for ladybugs and spiders. In fact I rescue spiders in my house. Whenever I see one, I scoop them up and take them outside.

I actually quite like spiders, just as long as they are not huge great ravenous beasties LOL. If I find spiders in the house I try to release them outside, if I can, as they hold no terrors for me. I like to watch them sometimes as they spin their webs, it's facinating.

I don't like spiders either. Whenever I see one, whether it's small or Godzilla size, I get away from it, as far as possible! There was a time when I was a kid, I had the unfortunate incident to see a really big, spider, with super long legs and all, situated near where I was sitting. The moment I saw it, I screamed so loud that my father got mad with me.lol! He thought someone was harassing me. I nearly cried from the experience because the mere thought of that big spider landing on me, was simply too horrifying.

Don't worry they also hate you. Haven't you ever seen a spider running off from you and screaming with terror? :) They are living beings just like us... I'm not saying that we should love them, i am just saying they exist. You don't necessarily have to like or hate a thing. They simply are there. I would like to imagine you were a little creepy human being with two disgusting legs and two disgusting arms walking in a world of giant spiders. Imagine ... what will it be then? p.s Almost joking all the time, but i think you got my message.

I actually don't mind spiders, which is a good thing, considering my mum and younger sister are both extremely afraid of them. Before my mum met my stepfather, I was the offical spider catcher. I would trap them in a glass, slide a piece of paper underneath the glass and then walk the spider down the street before setting it free. I was under direct instructions from my mother not to let it out in our yard, or any of the neighbours next to us, as it might follow me home and exact revenge for putting it outside. Highly irrational, which even she agrees, but it was my duty in spite of this to walk the spider down the street.

Hi,there! I'm somehow also afraid of spiders. When I was young,I was somehow curious about it cause it can just be there over the air.But I hear that there're also some poisonous ones. I don't hate the spiders but just afraid to see them if they come to my house:) If they're outside,I have no problems with them. Thanks for the discussion and have a nice day!

Dear worldwise1, I definitely agree with you. I too hate spiders, I just hate them. sometimes I even wonder why God created such a creature like spiders. But, one day, i read in a book that spiders are good for one reason: they catch and eat mosquitoes and other harmful insects, which are present in our homes :) This is one good news about spiders. But, frankly speaking, I still hate them, i even get scared. Some spider species are even very poisonous, if they bite us, we die immediately. So, my friends, be very careful when you see them, don't let them on your body.

I also hate spiders especailly the ones with brawny bodys and legs.I fear few things but I don't know why spiders make me dread. The movie "Ice Spiders" made me feel more scared while I see the big spiders.I really hate the creature with eight legs.
