I am so excited. I write for Helium.com, which is a site where titles are given and people write articles regarding those titles. The other writers on the site rate the articles. That is the simplest explaination of the site, though there is a whole lot more to it. Anyway, I woke up this morning and found out that one of my articles is featured on the front page. If you go to http://www.helium.com/ you can see it. Mine is in the middle section of the page right under the Helium explaination. It is a debate about giving vs. receieving. I wrote for the receiving side. I am really excited to have my writing recongnized. For those of you who write for Helium and are getting discouraged, keep at it! I may not earn very fast, but my writing is definitely improving. Thanks for letting me share my excitement! Oh, here is a link straight to the article in case I haven't given a clear description of where to find the article on the Helium.com front page: http://www.helium.com/tm/703076/giving-better-receiving-maybe

Congratulations on getting your article on Helium's front page. I just had a look at it and feel that it was well written and very true. :-)

Thanks derek. Here is a funny story about that article. I was getting ready to send it to all my friends and family so they could see it on the front page. After re-reading it I realized I couldn't send it to certain family members because it would be very offensive to them. I think I need to keep that in mind next time I write. Or maybe not- the truth hurts sometimes. I'm trying to decide which way to go on that.

Yes, I can understand your position there. We can't please all of the people all of the time :-)

You know, that's a good point. No matter what I do I'm going to wind up not pleasing someone- even if that someone may be myself by not saying all I have to say. I am going to choose not to censor my writing. Thank you for your help!

I know EXACTLY what you mean! When one of my blog's gets ranked at StumbleUpon, or Digg, and my page views spike it's always a nice encouragement (and reminder) to keep plugging away. Positive reinforcement rules!

Thank you, Silvana. Don't be discouraged by not having a top rated article. One thing I noticed about the ratings is that they can go up and down quit quickly. My writing has definitely improved in the last couple of months that I've been writing. Keep trying, you'll get a top rated article some day!

I have to agree...all Helium writers should keep at it! It may take time and effort, but it does pay off. I got an e-mail today that my article is being featured too (only today is a different day then yesterday, but none-the-less. It is a little exciting, and I have been making more and gaining stars, man do I love those little stars!
