It's too vast to be explained in a single post. In fact, different communities have different beliefs. If you go deep down, Hinduism is actually a way of life..but it has changed many forms and is so varied now to suit the needs of different communities as they progressed. It will take you quite some time to even get an inkling of the religion ...frankly most Hindus themselves don't know the essence of the religion..they just follow the customs based on a belief that their parents or ancestors knew better.
