Strange encounter at Pizza Hut

We just came back from the Pizza Hut buffet. My bf had a slice of pizza on a plate he was full and wasn't going to eat it. We were sitting there just chilling wasting time when this man comes up to the table. I saw this man come in and just thought he was going to go sit down but he asked if we were going to eat the pizza. My bf says no and this man takes a napkin out of his bag opens his napkin and puts the pizza in it and walks out the other door. A minute later one of the workers came and apologized and said he sneaks in and does that sometimes. In a way I guess I was glad because at least someone ate the pizza and it wouldn't go to waste and thrown in the trash can. This was the first time I've seen someone come into a restaurant and beg.

That has happened to me more times than I can count, in all kind of restaurants. I live in San Francisco, and our homeless population is rather high. I hate being approached when I am somewhere, on my time, in a situation where I have essentially rented the locale for a period of time. I don't mind being asked when I am walking home with left overs though.

I'm in Honolulu and there are a lot of homeless people. I've been asked on the street but never in a restaurant. That's why I was a little shocked he had some balls to do that.

Wow, I've never seen someone come in a place like that. But at least the food didn't go to waste. :)

How sad. I could not imagind living that way at all. I know that some people are forced to live that life but I think for me and my family if any thing ever happened and we were to lose our home and way of life I would choose a homeless shelter. I guess I cant say what I would really do until I get there but 3 meals a day is a big deal to me.
