I get at least a few unwanted calls everyday. I finally registered my phone so I won't get them anymore. You can go to www.donotcall.gov . To register by telephone, call 1-888-382-1222: for TTY call 1-866-290-4236. You must call from the phone number you wish to register. So there it is..It can take up to 31 days for it to become effective..Then if someone calls you report them. I will never order from someone on the phone unless I have indicated that I want them to call! Hope this helps oxxoxoxoxo

I have had to do this for my parents when I came home, they were getting calls morning, noon and night and especially at night and it drove me up the wall and they have it 24/7 Anyhow I got straight onto our line operator BT in the UK and I registered them for a FREE service in which their number is taken off the sales records etc, it does take 28 days tho' but still at least that'll mean by Christmas the calls will cease. It is an invasion of privacy and what annoys me is that they are rude when they phone after mum tells them she is not interested!

They seem to prey on the elderly more then younger.. Do you know how many elderly people get taken because they do not understand what is going on with these slick scammers! Good for you Doll..Taking care for your parents. xoxoxoxoxo

I know it makes me upset and angry that you hear that old people have been robbed of their life savings because of scams, more should be done about it, but it's not sadly and it's become commonplace now.

Thanks a lot for this information. I hate it when they call constantly, especially when it's not even a human calling me...I hate the automated dialers. They are driving me nutty!! lol Have a great weekend! Taz

I know what you mean..What an insult! They don't have time to call me personally but they think I will take time to sit on the other end waiting for them!!! Insulting...no? xoxoxo

We get them at my house a lot. I put us on the do not call list once but found out months later our number actually was NOT on the list after all. So, then I reregistered us not too long ago so I'm hoping that all of these really annoying phonecalls begin to cease. They're really getting frustrating.

yes, my boyfriend and i get a TON of them. one day we got more than five in one hour. it's insane. i just signed up on that list a few days ago. so far we still get them though... but, as you stated, it says it can take up to 31days to become effective. i hope it works though. so annoying.

I've been a member of this site for a while. There is also a website that you can go to cut down on the pre-approved credit card offers. I can not copy and paste yet but if you do a www.dogpile.com search for pre-approved credit offers opt out or call 1-888-5-OPTOUT they will take your name off. I did the opt out for the pre-approved credit offers a month or so ago. I was getting between 10-12 a week. Now I may get one or two a month.

I rip them up and throw them away at the po. I do make sure to put the pieces in more then one trash can so someone isn't tempted to grab my info. An ounce of prevention....
