http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/071130/national/cold_winter_forecast Great :( heater bill is going to be extremely high this winter. It reached minus 40 for all the years I've been here, I can't imagine anything colder than that. what about your place? has it ever reached minus 40 celcius (it's equal to minus 40 fahrenheit). Because if it gets colder here I'd imagine the same in most countries in the North

I live in Boston, MA and the last couple of days have been very cold, much colder than usual. I seldom check to see the exact temperature but when I went to the store this morning it was freezing and the wind didn't help.

It's 10am...next day and still no snow! Hopefully we lucked out! It's still as cold as hell but I would rather have that than snow!

I live in Winnipeg and we are going to get those minus 40 degrees. We already had our permanent snow. We are fixing up our basement, and so we cannot go south until fall of next year at least and then we will have to return here. Moving to the States sounds is becoming increasingly better, but my husband loves the Prairies and flat and I love hills, mountains, and the sea.

Bad news, weather in Chicago depends on Canadian weather in winter. They call it Lake effect, but I call it Canada effect.... I am looking for very warm coat to buy...

you sure will need one if that's the case where I used to work there was this man came down from the US now and then to represent the company's customer and when he went down in winter he got a hat kind of those they wear in Russia. he looks like a puppy :):)

I live in Canada as well. For me I thought the 04'- 05 winter was bitterly cold. I barely made it to my car without feeling the moisture dry out of my face.

I know for sure we always reach minus 40 down here, year after year, so colder than that I think I will hibernate

Yep it's cold, but not much...yet. However, the previous winter got without raining any snow in here (Bulgaria) and that is weird...

I live in Canada and of course the coldest city in Canada, Winnipeg. aka Winterpeg.Yes we get 40 below weather for weeks on end. I can't imagine it getting any colder than that, either. If it gets any colder I think the city could shut down, I'm hoping anyways. I think the tires on our cars would freeze and we wouldn't be able to drive anywhere. lol. This is the rason why I have trouble believing in Global Warming. I thought the world was getting warmer. ha.

I read somewhere that global warming is only the beginning. temperature will rise high enough to melt ice on each pole then it will drop because water fills up the land. but then when it happens what are tires for

Well, so far it has been 18 degrees F here. I don't know the calculation into Celsius. It's sad, but I let that converting formula drop out of my mind even though I learned it early on in school. : ) Although last week it was 80, and then it was 30. This winter is might reach zero degrees, but we aren't supposed to go under that.

It's definitely never gotten that cold here in PA but I'm sure we've had some -15 to -20 with windchills at least. S/o used to live in Alaska in Fairbanks and he said once it gets to -40 to-50 below you don't really notice the difference much because it's just that cold.

yes Alaska I believe it's under minus 40, because they are way further north than we
