Hello Mr. Blue Face

I was watching an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (Which isn't uncommon as I watch it practically every day) and it was the episode where Carlton was all depressed before his interview for Princeton. So he runs away to a little casino like place and some guy is singing the blues.
Well it's not that kind of blue that has the blue face.
Carlton was talking about the world and it's disappointments and how there were Blue M&M's and I was like "OMG I FORGOT!" I'm so used to the blue M&M's being in M&M's that I completely forgot the world VOTED that color in back in 1995.

Do you ever get so used to something that you forget that it wasn't there a few years back?
I mean, besides the obvious of things like the internet or television or cell phones.

To totally remember the vote and life before the blue M&M's!!
I can't remember if I actually voted or not but I know I wanted purple to win - because well that's my favorite color LOL.
I'm glad though that blue won if purple didn't. And I'm glad they decided to add another color to the population of M&M's. A more colorful world the better in my opinion!
It is really hard to sometimes to remember back when things like that have changed. I can't think of anything small at the moment (proves your point LOL) but I know they've got to be loads of other things.

Do you!? I vaguely remember it but I completely forgot that they didn't exist until Carlton said something! ha ha. I probably didn't vote back then either cause I don't eat M&M's like crazy or anything. I couldn't see purple in the bags.
I am glad they've expanded their color worlds and size worlds and type worlds! ha ha. I like peanut and peanutbutter. but they've got plain and mini's and do they still have the crunch ones? M&M's are everywhere.
It's true. I always wonder why Bart Simpson doesn't promote butterfingers anymore. I bet there are people these days who don't remember that he did!
Oh here's one.
Pizza Hut didn't start delivering pizza until the late 80's. do you remember life before pizza hut delivered!? Ohhhh ahhhh. ha ha.

I learned about the Pizza Hut thing on tv once. I also do this "did you know" multiple choice question for the library electronic sign every week so I learn a lot of stupid random facts! Most of which I can't use ha ha. And I hate Papa Johns! Their sauce makes me sick. Pizza Hut is my fave but I'll do Dominoes once in a while too.
Yeah, I don't like plain M&M's cause I'm not a big fan of chocolate, so I can only eat chocolate if it has other stuff in it. So Peanut will always be my favorite. The mini's definitely aren't good and neither were the crunch. You can't alter a classic you know?
Butterfingers are one of my favorite candy bars, so it always makes me sad that people are allowed to lay their finger on Barts Butterfinger!

lol...I thought this was going to be a discussion on the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air"!! lol....one of my favorites too and I watch the reruns on nik at nite every single night. This was one of my favorite episodes. Yes, I remember no blue m&m's....I'm so old I remember having a tv so small that my parents had a magnifying glass in front of the screen...lol....

Ha ha. Fresh prince of Bel-Air is one of the best shows. It's always on in the morning when I'm getting ready for work so I watch at least two episodes a day monday-friday. It's also one of those shows that no matter how many times I see the same episodes, I still love it!
Aww. You can still get tv's that small amazingly!
I remember M&M's before there were blue ones, but until I heard Carlton say that I completely forgot that there was a time before Blue M&M's you know. It was just one of those things I forgot about. The green M&M Is fairly new too and I remember when she was introduced to the world. it's just so funny how you get used to things and forget that it wasn't there before.

Hi raychill,
I was quite a bit younger when the whole blue M&M thing came about! But I do remember life when records went to cd's, the Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, and Rainbow Bright went into retirement, and I remember cell phones, dvd's, computers, internet, etc. Good discussion, thanks for reminding me how old I've gotten ;)

i remember them taking away the red m&m's for awhile..does that count? ;)
um..probably microwaves.they were such a magical thing when we first got one.i use it every day now just to do simple things like reheating coffee.it's so much more conveniant than putting things back in a pot and heating it on the stove.

I remember the M&M voting hoopla. I didn't vote for a color, but I wanted purple or that turquoise color to win. Do you remember how much commontion there was over the M&M voting? I remember people in my area were taking the voting thing very serious, like it was a presidential election or something. Ha ha. You could walk in a grocery store or a restaurant, and no lie, you would hear tons of conversations about what color to vote for. I remember life before the blue M&Ms. My life is now a little brighter.:P
