We Have Snow!

We awoke this morning to white glistening on the ground. It was beautiful. Now it evening, the wind is howling and the snow is still falling. It is cold and very windy. The wind just seems to go through my clothes whenever I step outside. It looks and sounds a lot like winter! What is your weather like today?

Well here in Ketchikan, AK we have no snow yet. but its cold enough to get some. right now its 3F outside. earlier it was 11F outside. I've been in alaska all my life and I am tired of the freezing winters. but this is my first winter here in this tiny town with no snow. Thats different for me. we have frost on the grass areas and some patches of ice on the sidewalks. This why Alaskans don't like to go anywhere in the winter, to cold!

I have never been to Alaska. I have a friend who's husband was stationed there for a few years. She hated it. What kind of temperatures are the norm there? I am very interested in what the weather is like in Alaska.

No new snow today. We were hit on Saturday with a few inches of snow with an inch of ice on top... makes for very hard shoveling. Not to mention that someone stole our shovel, which understandably so makes for even harder shoveling! Not much wind today either, though I made the mistake of not zipping my coat up when I left the grocery store and I'm pretty sure the only gust of wind that blew today was right as I was heading to my car with an arm load of groceries! Isn't that how it always is?

Excellent point ... besides not involving work there were lots of other things in our shed that would have been more valuable! I guess they were desperate.

They stole your shovel?? Man that is not good. You would think they would steal something that did not involve work.

Yikes! Well its so very windy here and its making it really cold. I was walking around my yard and we have alot of branches down from todays winds. Its cold enought to snow here. It is pretty but its such a pain in the butt to get around.LOL Enjoy your snow!

It is terribly cold here tonight. It is down to 28 before dark, I can only imagine what it is now. I am not going to go out to see though. LOL

It is about in the 80's or 80F. Not really hot but not really cold either. I actully went outdoors for a while with my neice and nephew while I watched them for awhile. My sister went on a job interview.

The ground is covered with snow here in Winnipeg, and it started last week. I had to shovel our walkway twice and each time it felt as if I had not done so. Right now it is twelve degrees Fahrenheit. I have heard it will be a very cold winter and I hope those global warming guys are happy because of them, our gas costs are going to be through the roof. I sure hope we do not have many blizzards as once that happens, it is hard to walk. Oh I will have to shovel the walk again, the now is coming down, drifting somewhat, and the sky is white, not a patch of blue in it.

We got another big snow last night. They canceled school today because of the snow and we are supposed to get 4 - 6 more inches by dusk. I hate winter. I like the snow but hate the cold and the slick roads

I live in the artic and sadly... its extremly windy, over 50 mph gusts, and cold. But no snow. :( its a bummer, im so wishing for snow. I really hope that we will have a white chirstmas. This cold weather and frozen ground is so dull. You cant go outside and play in it. Your just kind of stuck. No fun at all.

The wind here is 30 mph. I never really gave the weather much thought when it comes to the artic. That would be terribe to have the ground frozen and the wind without snow. Do you alot of snow there?

Well, we had some Snow here on Saturday that did not really last that long, but it was pretty. Now we are having heavy rains and flooding everywhere which is not good either. Not here where we live, but the flooding, etc. is not too far from us.

I am glad I am not where you are, I dislike cold and snow! It is about sixty today, but yesterday it was nearly 80!

The snow is pretty but I do hate the cold. I would love be where it iss 80 degrees. That is my kind of temperature

No snow yet, just cold. I live in NC, in the piedmont area. We're not supposed to have any precip here soon. I dread snow and ice. We live in an area that's really prone to just getting ice and no snow, which is just treacherous.

The temperature was in the twenties when I left for work, and in the high 50's when I went to my second job. That is how it is supposed to be all week. Not too bad. The ice we were supposed to get last Saturday never materialized.

It's snowy here today and it's still coming down. It was brisk and windy yesterday, warmed up and then early this morning we started getting pelted with snow. This storm is supposed to be over by midnight tonight, or so it seems. We could end up with anywhere from 5-8 inches by the time it's over with.
