Do grandparents out there enjoy babysitting your grandchildren?

Do you ever feel your own children are taking advantage of you?

I think my mom loves babysitting my kid, but that's probably because she doesn't get to do it very often. She came up when he was born (Feb 2006), and since then I've gone to stay with her for a couple weeks 4 times. She really misses him and tries to spend as much time as she can when she gets to see him.

I'm sure your mom will love babysitting when she doesn't see her grandchild very often. Thanks for your positive comment.

I am a grandmother who very much loves babysitting and having my daughter and grandson visiting. He is so much fun and it reminds me of when I had my children at home, although I feel I have more patience with him then I had with my own, maybe because I do not have to work now and then I did.

Yes, it's great to have some more free time when it comes to your grandchildren, isn't it?

I don't ask my mom to watch my children, I wait until she asks when she can take them. I also have a grandchild myself now and I love taking my granddaughter. For a short time her parents were asking me to take her a little bit more often than I would have asked, but not grossly taking advantage of me. If it's for them to work, go to school or something along those lines; I don't mind helping as much as I can. If it's for going out, then I think once a month is plenty.

Sounds like you've got a fairly good arrangement going!
